I love that shirt: "Scorsese" with The Scorpions font.

The trailer to Psycho was amazing as well (really funny) and quite long too. It's Hitchcock giving us a tour of the motel and the house.

The Birds is a pro-conservation film about the consequences of messing around with nature. P.G&E. started construction on the 1st commercial nuclear power plant in CA. The one problem was they built the foundation directly over an earthquake fault line. The locals went ballistic when they found out, contacted government officials, and had the power plant stopped, leaving only the foundation which they subsequently filled with water and turned it into a bird sanctuary. The location of the thwarted power plant is Bodega Bay, CA.

The trailer for Rope is an unusual one, too, in that it begins with a scene which isn't in the film, featuring a character who is dead by the first time you see him.

I remember seeing this in a theater. When we came out there were dozens of crows sitting up on some telephone wires just outside the entrance and some people actually screamed. Odd coincidence but it did reveal the impact the film had on the audience.

@@ianbauer4703 Roth. Seems like a real nice guy, but he couldn't write or direct a movie to save his life.

This movie has no musical score. Only sound effects were used to control tension

I think Bernard Herrmann, Hitch's longtime composer, advised on the sound.

I disagree that this is boring. It’s funny. The. “Lecture “ sets up the concept or the movie.

Yes, plenty of other channels have this trailer. But, hey, this is a different concept channel; the whole point is for contemporary directors to give us their take on a trailer (and/or the film).
