very thorough, and easy to follow, I learned a lot. some are simply showing off how good they are, but this channel really tells you what key functions you are using during the process since what you are pressing on your keyboard cannot be seen on the screen recording except for the features on the software. YeahRightMCD All I use is an iPad Pro since I am not the most talented painter out there 😂 but for vectors, Affinity Designer is limitless and Vectornator as a free app it does great stuff. For photography, PS for iPad is getting better, Darkroom is nice as well. Are you planning to invest on tablets?

Hey man, great tutorial! the best one I found so far on the explanation about how to use the pen tool correctly. I do however have one complaint. I don't like how you "eye-ball" the alignment of those two handles at 10:45 to create a smooth curve. No matter how smooth it looks to your eye, if they are not exactly aligned the curve will never be 100% smooth. There are ways however to accomplish this, just select the anchor point tool and drag the handles out from the center of the vertex, this will once again align those two handles. Hope this helps anybody out there. If you don't want both handles to have the same length you just have to press command(mac) or ctrl(win) to drag out their lengths individually without messing up their alignment. cheers

One little question: when I use my pen tool there is a connecting line that shows my path (for example, after I clicked on area A and moved to area B but before I actually clicked on area B, there is a line between A and B indicating where my path is going) but yours doesn't. Do you know how to remove that helper line? I find it very distractive.

Lily Ouyang It's inside the Properties panel. If you are on PC it's under Edit menu. Inside there there is a tab named, Selection & Anchor Display. At the right side on the preferences and all the way down, disable the Enable Rubber Band for Pennsylvania Tool. Try that and let me know if you wish.

Khaqan, not sure exactly what you mean but an idea...Go to Adobe Illustrator Preferences, under Selection & Anchor Display, disable Rubber Band for Pen tool and Curvature Tool. See if this works otherwise let's further talk. Thanks.
