Dingbats and Yankee's, too funny. For people who know you, know your originally from NY (I think) but you have no accent. Anyone who watches your videos and everyone else's video's fishing from a Kayak KNOW you are the most knowledgeable kayaker out there ! As far as trolling, and I have done a lot over the years, the Juke Saltwater from Berkley is hands down the finest bait I have ever used. The 85 and 100 in a fire tiger or chartreuse have put so many fish in the boat. My bud loves his Clarkspoon's but there too light for my liking, if I use them I put a weight upline to get them down. That fish at 1:36 was a tank ! Honestly I hate keeping anything and hate killing fish. If I'm offshore I will keep a few as I know there is less pressure. You sound pumped, waiting for Meg to get down. My lady was down there for xmas and her whole family got a stomach bug. Keep doing what you do brother and thanks for the videos.

I enjoy these! Especially this one compared to a few weeks ago… “people might be confused that I just come out here and catch fish all day, I’m out here for hours” uncut video - nails a grouper and keeper mutton in less then 10 minutes. Great stuff!

"Who wants to see a 4 hour video trolling?": me. I'm a disabled Floridian living as far away from an ocean as you can in this country. I miss quietly sitting in a boat hunting reds and specks. Not that I dislike your commentary, but I really like just watching you cast and listening to the wind whistle through the lines on the other rods. Please keep this kind of content going.

A little tip for keeping fish overnight is pack em in cooler packed with ice but add a little saltwater brine. They will keep up to a day and a half and be just fine…..just like ya caught em that day!😎

There is a kayak fishing channel with a guy that fishes for mutton's with hard lures in 15 to 20 feet of water showing that these fish will come up to take the bite its all about the area and what the bottom is like that sort of thing
@captrod136 күн бұрын
I do that same trolling on the x-raps in shallow and find my best results is using a lazy back and forth swooping motion with rod in hand. Bites are easily 5-1. Looks a little goofy but it definitely works

another great video. Next trip go to west palm and fish the gulf stream right off the beach you are in 100 to 200 feet before you know it. heading to mosquito lagoon next year. then Jupiter for snook and poon, in the old town pdl then going offshore in a boat for pelagic fish. All weather permitting.

My old 2016 Outback has a 7" Lowrance Total scan...so a 5 on a kayak is pretty mild...A buddy has a 9" screen on his...I use in line singles on all my hard baits and mostly mash the barbs down on them....but when a fish inhales it doesn't matter, the gills bleed...and the fish will not survive.

Hello Elias 🎄🎄🎄
@wigi495 күн бұрын
Elias, I am enjoying the uncut videos. While I would agree that a day when you struggle is not as compelling moment-to-moment, it is interesting to watch what you do to get back on fish. One thing I noticed on this video (and a little bit on the previous one) was that when I could, I would pay attention to your fishfinder when it was visible. I might suggest that if you could do it on these long-form videos, if you could display the fishfinder screen in the corner, at least the sonar trace, but not the GPS/map display. It would be fun to watch the marks. On the one from the bridge, I was imagining what an underwater camera would see, though I know it was mucky that day. I am sure there's a reason you don't have an underwater camera.

Nice content, You left a lot of quality questions for other anglers. Without rambling I just recommend scaling any snapper species (Yellowtail negotiable) with the back of a fillet knife before cooking. It makes a difference. Do not chunk for needlefish that is fruitless.

i'd like to see you find a perfect day where you can go out a ways and try some chum, move when the sharks invade - you should get a king or two if you can get enough nice days - even still so much variety, i think trolling is excellent strategy. maybe even catch a wahoo - if you find the bait usually you will find the fish
@kevindeuschle34136 күн бұрын
Don't worry about editing your videos into oblivion. I like the long format stuff, that's real fishing, not just a highlight reel with some B-roll and music.

I am not impressed with the 3d minnow treble hooks. I trolled in the keys and the were mangled after the first fish. Are you replacing what comes in the box with stronger hooks, or did I get the ones made at the end of the shift? Great catch and interesting video.

Really cool not to kill everything, especially cool to release the bigger versions of whatever your after! But end of the day taking one for the plate is perfectly fine, no choice in that situation. Trolling paid off, not a big fan of trolling but I try and usually fail! Probably due to lack of effort but I like casting and hunting birds etc….

Brotha I much prefer the longer unedited versions over the shorter edited ones. They are much more realistic that real fisherman can relate to.😎

@woodystemms37996 күн бұрын
Look through Elias' videos from two years ago or so. He did a review of several reels he'd been using. One spinner that was praised in terms of value was from Okuma.

@ 2 yrs is a long time and he has so many reels/ combos now
@woodystemms37996 күн бұрын
@@Waterboy516 He's gone through quite a few ... they take a beating ... the Okuma reel in question was a $50 item ( 2500 or 3000 ) that handled Jack Crevalie runs inshore. Elias mentioned that if he still did charters, that would be the reel he'd use for customers.

@ I have a fuego 3k the second time I used it, I hooked up to a 15 inch black fish and bent the handle 😂 I have a spin fisher as well but it’s to dang heavy I have that on my surf caster. Why don't you guys ever brain spike the fish you are going to keep. For one it puts the fish out of its misery quickly and it stops the fish from thrashing about all over the place risking the fisherman getting hooks in the fingers
@EliasVFishing5 күн бұрын
Pretty tough to do on the kayak and in my lap but maybe you can show me how someone does it without a spot to lay the fish on?
@bap43455 күн бұрын
@@EliasVFishing I'm Australian and maybe we think differently. I have seen brain spiking done on a kayak. Where there is a will there is a way. I've seen a couple of people get hooks in their fingers recently and I felt their pain. But anyway. Keep doing things your way mate. What ever rocks your boat
