Met my wife over the internet. We corresponded for a year and then I went to visit her in Russia (Kolpino, Leningrad Oblast). After a week, I proposed and she accepted. That was 20 years and two sons ago. She is still a stunner, highly intelligent, and very successful here in Colorado. She did have a bad time with culture shock when she first arrived but now loves it here. Anyone can make such a marriage work, but for the husband it has to be all about the wife and for the wife, her husband. We are still on our honeymoon

There is a common trend in the U.S. where married women are leaving their husbands. My wife got pregnant from another man while we were married. She left me and our 12yr old son and had the baby with the other guy. Now she's with a totally different guy. I raised my son, homeschooled him, sent him to college, now we work together and are building his first house. I ended up finding who I thought was my true love while my son was in college. We married and had some good years, but she ended up leaving as well, after I supported her to get her bachelor's and master's degree. Women approach me often to date me, but now I wonder what they hope to get out of me. I don't think they're intentions are really to go through life together, but rather what they can get out of a man before going to the next man. I want to share life with someone special, but it's hard to trust anymore. I just focus on sharing life with my son and my brother, sister, and father. Hopefully I could find someone, but I don't know how to believe a woman's true intentions anymore.

Let me help you. They really dont care much about leaving their firends because they say they can find new friends. But they will stay in touch with female friends but rarely a male friend, so you never need to worry about them going back to old boyfriend etc. Next, family. Yes it is hard for them to leave parents only for the most part, but they always say they will visit someday, so they do not think of it as they are in another country, but as though they are much closer. And this is from personal experiance with 4 different ladies I have brought to US to start new life here, but only one was for myself, 11 years ago.

The biggest issue most Russian women that want to find a Western guy is that they do not speak English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, etc. Yes, there is such a device as a translator that we can use on our computers and I-phones, but translators do not really convey the spiritual content that needs to be conveyed in any romantic relationship.

If I can say something as an old guy, what applies to a wife is what applies to friends. Personal integrity matters most because marriage is partnership in every way. If you can't trust your partner or friend it won't work. Other things can be learned, we change too in time, we love the differences if we are open to them. Nationality matters but it's not the basic thing. Better to live alone than with the wrong one.

I have a Russian wife as well LOL. But my story is entirely different - we both grew up in the same city in Eastern Europe - I was born there, and her parents moved there for work; and we've known each other from childhood. It made a huge difference since we are from very similar cultures, and we speak Russian at home (since my Russian is a lot better than her Lithuanian!). As for some of the comments here, that a lot of thse girls can be gold-diggers who just want citizenship in a Western country - yes that can be very true. You just have to be careful. If she is hot and has a super-outgoing personality, and you're an average-looking introverted guy, it is too obvious she is only interested in your Western passport. Look for a girl that matches your looks, and more importantly, matches your personality. I've seen how quiet mild-mannered girls just go overlooked because they do not draw attention to themselves.

"Soulmate." Now that was is a key word mentioned by one of the interviewees. The most important factors in a relationship are character, personality, interests not too wide apart, and similar culture (easier to understand each other) makes life easier. Looks come far down the list for a relationship. A healthy relationship is built on love, not lust. Lust is attraction to looks, and that can lead to love, but it is not love in itself. The tendency in the West of falling in lust is one of the primary causes of the high divorce rate. Love is deeper, soul to soul, and then looks are not so important.

Then she began to contradict herself in some cases and i grew distrustful. We tried to talk things out, we broke up and reunited. It wasnt meant to be and we walked our separate ways. Yep. Compatibility both culturally and genetically, as well as in terms of personality type, is the most important thing when It comes to long-term relationships. Way more important than the momentary feelings of "love" and lust which are just temporary and will fade eventually, leaving you with a person you no longer feel any kind of passion anymore, who you aren't actually compatible with. So if you want an actual relationship and a functional marriage, for the love of god, marry within your own ethnic group with someone you actually get along with.

My second and present wife is Ukrainian and we have been very happily married for 32 years now. We have three kids, now in their twenties that look like us. Perhaps I am a benevolent racist, but I like the fact and am glad that ultimately I returned to my own culture and national origin. I have several Russian friends. They're pretty and slim, yes, and they're nice people, generous, sociable and family-oriented. Being very involved in their respective families was the thing that surprised me the most about them. More so bec not everyone in California's like that. I thought they would be more detached. I can only say that about my friends. By the way, they're all professionals. Don't know if that's really how Russians are, in general.

ВДНХ Park (or VDNKh) in Moscow. It's a beautiful place! Space museum, friendship of nations fountain, stone flower fountain, aquarium, dozens of beautiful pavilions, botanical gardens, lovely Russian girls ice skating...and lots more. It's a massive place and very interesting, well worth a visit if you're ever in Moscow.

America use to have all those things too, when we had a conservative White culture as yours. Now the diversity has destroyed many of those places and the city taxes are not enough to keep repairing them. Here is an example of a typical inner-city now: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKfXpo2tip6Zeac

That dude at the end is pretty smart. Russian women seem very natural and genuine. I’m from the US and I love dating foreign girls because they are so interesting and would show me an exciting new culture/world. Dated a girl from Germany and another from Norway. Once you get to experience all of that including the traveling, local girl start to seem boring 😢

I was married to a Chinese girl (for 47 years). I found there was an ADVANTAGE of marrying someone from a foreign culture. Whenever we had a disagreement, I was able to brush it off by saying ("I guess she's just being Chinese"). I'm sure she would say: ("I guess he's just being American"). When one marries someone from one's own culture, there are many pre-conceived ideas about how one's spouse should feel, act and speak. If they DON'T feel, act and speak the way their spouse thinks they should, based on their common culture, it creates a lot of tension, anger and often leads to divorce. Being somewhat ignorant of one's spouse's ways and traditions....can actually lead to a better...and more lasting...marriage.
