10 year cask strength bourbon for the ~$80 MSRP isn't something to be upset about. However many retailers may hike all ECBP prices based on the demand for the best batches and never fluctuate them. Still can't blame Heaven Hill for that.

I'll hold judgment until I try the A124. Regarding 1924, I was exited when it was announced last year, Now not so much. I'm sure I'll get to try it and will probably like it but I wont be getting a bottle.

Distribution had 1924 in my state yesterday. It was up for a couple hours before it went into allocation. Not sure if I’m allowed to give details on quantities? But it’s officially available in the western part of the U.S. and should be in stores by Friday. Good luck y’all.

Well! I guess I will be able to get the ECBP A124 easy enough! Should be great just like all the rest of them! Sometimes 110 to 120 proofs are really good:)

Great video 👍 Not surprised at A124 having the weakest stats ever for an ECBP, it’s been on a downward slope for awhile now. Removing the 12 year age statement + the permanent ECBP quality drop that started with A121 was enough to know ECBP will drop to 8-10 years and sub 120 proof on an ongoing basis. C923 I knew was an anomaly, won’t be getting much more like that.

So if I asked you blindly without knowing a company name, brand or anything, if you would rather buy an $115 bottle of 10-year 100 proof bourbon or under $80 for a 10-year 119 proof bourbon, which one would you buy?

There’s no argument from me that the stats on paper are better for ECBP. But I’m not buying blindly, so it’s a moot point, and both distillery profiles and expectations for a particular brand will always have to be factors.

I knew this was coming!! You start out with a giant 11 year batch, then do a limited 13 year batch making people think you might get older often, but this will be the norm.

If I see a 1924 I will get it but only once. Why would I buy it when I can get two 1920 for this price. And I don’t ever see EC so not something I’m worried about.

People complaining about the youngest barrel in A124 being 10 year 8 months (without trying it) probably have no problem buying Stagg Jr which is definitely not as old as 10 year 8 months.

Doesn't make any sense to compare those two. Obviously if Stagg were to suddenly release a far younger and lower proof product than they normally do, called it the same thing, and priced it the same, then people would be disappointed.

@@EyeSackk far younger? First off, no one knows how many older barrels are in the blend, only that the youngest is 10 year 8 months (which is only 1 year younger than the original 12 year age statement) a 10 year 8 month barrel proof Kentucky bourbon at 74$ is still a great value in today market.

If I can find them, I buy all the ECBP offerings. I taste and decide. I’ve got a 10 year store pick at 135 proof that’s awesome. The Old Forrester, I’ll pass on. The price tag is too much for me. I can get the barrel proof store picks cheaper and I know I like them
