I know I’m 4-5 months late but this took me a while to find. But letting this air out helped it tremendously for my palate. I bought a backup bottle of this I like it so much and I’m debating going get another one if I can find it.

Whether it's scotch or bourbon, the nose is always better to me. If the palate always matched the nose, I would be in heaven. Great review.

I know exactly what you mean. I've got a bottle of Old Line cognac finished American whiskey, and it's the same way. The nose is the best part, the whiskey is different.

For me, last years releases : 1. C922 2: B522 (VERY CLOSE to c922) And a distant 3rd A122 Both the C and B batches were in my top 10 pours from last year.

We have not seen this in Dallas Tx . I will be purchasing as c922 was the best I’ve had since c920. The A batches usually are similar to the C. Buy but I’ll find a buddies to try before I crack.

Last year, A122 hit the market in OKC for the normal few days (buy it quick!) just as the first B522 reviews were coming out. Then the B and C batches were maybe within a month of the labeled month…weird. We did get swarmed with ECBP picks. Through weirdly, a half dozen or so dropped around the city over 6-7 days.

Haven't found it yet in GA, been looking for a couple weeks but you can darn sure find ECBP (9-11yr) store picks, most of em around $80 but ya still got those stores that think theirs is "super special" trying to get $100.

In Washington state B22 is still readily available. It showed up around June/July and has been in stock then sold out… and comes back a month later. My total wine just got it back in stock this week after being sold out for several weeks… we must have got a looooooot of B22 here haha. If distributors have been selling it for 6 months. That said I just finally got c922 at a smaller liquor store a week ago. There’s been so many barrel picks that ppl are leaving the standard release untouched

I’m only a year into bourbon, and the A122 is the only ECBP I’ve ever had. For a newbie, do you feel there is a big noticeable difference between the different batches? Thanks!

Yes I do. They all tend to be good but are all different.

A122 drinks more like a Stagg Jr which is not typical of ECBP. 2022 was better than the 2021 releases which to me were a slight let down. I enjoyed the A122 and the C922. I just picked up an A123. I will be opening it up this weekend and will blind it against A122 and C922. Now I have a bottle left of B520 and B519. Those are my favorites next to C919 which I don't have anymore.

A123 > A122 and not particularly close in my opinion. A122 had so many more flaws than A123. It drank hotter despite being lower proof, didnt have the depth of flavor, didnt have the same oak influence and just wasnt nearly as well constructed as A123, but thats just my opinion lol

They are good but can't justify buying all the releases from these companies. Find the ladr of year batches are always best. That includes this, larceny and makers stave additions.

Last year’s A122 was all proof and no flavor to me. I opened the C922 and was shocked how much better it was. Hopefully this year’s A isn’t like drinking gasoline
