I'm so so annoyed that I couldn't get this done earlier. this video is supposed to be my annual birthday present for one of my best friends, but this year I am two days late. I simply couldn't finish it in time.
a few days ago, while I was still recovering from the newest spn episode (I have since then figured out that there is no recovery and I'll be traumatized forever) my brain came up with the brilliant idea to vid haylijah for lisa's birthday, instead of making her the usual multicouples video. as if I wasn't already in enough pain, right?
I haven't even seen 5.03 of the originals yet, but I've seen the scenes between klaus and elijah, and apart from them ripping my heart out, that hayley mention also cut in way too deep and reminded me of how much they mean to me. elijah saying he loved hayley "once upon a time" in such a nonchalant way broke my heart.
they won't get their happy ending, I know that, but despite that, I will never lose my faith in them. because no matter what happens, no matter if they both die or not, they will ALWAYS find their way back to each other. be it in the afterlife, i don't care, they don't have to be endgame to be endgame. does that make sense to anyone but me? anyway.
the inspiration for this vid mainly came to me thanks to elo for dedicating that damn darvey vid to 'let her go' to me and bringing this song back to my mind. (WATCH IT, it's a masterpiece: • donna & harvey || let ... )
haylijah might be the only couple on earth that these lyrics fit even better than darvey. their entire relationships consists of elijah letting hayley go to save his family, or to put her first, or to make sure she finds someone better than him. their story is so tragic, mainly because elijah is such a tragic character, and the song is able to transfer that melancholia I feel when I think about them or vid them beautifully. I will never stop loving them with everything I have.
lisa, I hope you can forgive me for being so late (you know me, I suck). I know you haven't watched the originals in forever, but back when we were in ireland it was kinda our thing, and I think haylijah might be the couple we both love equally. I know this video is sad, but I still hope you're gonna like it! I just had to make a birthday video for you, it's becoming one of my favourite traditions :)
I love you so so much and I miss you even more. let's hope we'll see each other soon x

the scene that made me cry the most was when elijah remembers hayley. yes i bawled when hayley, elijah and klaus died but when he remembers her....that just broke me. i have never cried harder over a show. my parents literally had to make sure i was okay cause i was crying so hard. the pain in his eyes and when he screamed out just killed me. i’m tearing up just thinking about it:(

I can totally relate to your disappointment toward the show, I've always watched it for the family relationships as well but Hayley and Elijah were always one of my favourite things about it, too. It hurts to think about how far they've gone from the show I once loved, but sadly we can't change anything about it... hope you're okay after last weeks episode xx

I didn't say I expected him to remember? and I didn't forget that he was compelled or that it's not his fault, I just said the tone of his voice got to me because it was unusual to see elijah so uncaring in regards of hayley's fate. and I don't believe he'll remember her before she dies, her death or the aftermath of it is more likely to trigger his emotions and bring back the memories. anyway, please don't lecture me under my video, that's not what the comment section is for.
