I'm sorry I know the shadow legion have no leader and Onslaught can picked any other Enemy race to start out with But why are the shadow legion they working for the scorn revenant?! those scorn did not work for the witness Maybe they did and became their own faction After the witness died but if they were created by the Echo then why are the Shadow legions working with them?!

To their credit, I don’t think Bungie completely ignored this potential plot hole. There’s at least one bit of dialogue you can hear in onslaught where Crow or Eido wonder why the cabal are serving the scorn. Maybe it’ll be elaborated on going forward

Probably the Shadow Legion have turned to being mercenaries now as in Echoes they partnered up with Dusk Fallen remnants to work in exchange for protection I believe.

@@dddking9284 i both buy and don't buy the mercenaries angle. the shadow legion are so much hollowed out clones apparently that they completely lack any personality. but at the same time caiatl also had defectors en masse during risen and haunted so i guess i'd more buy that angle.

@@dddking9284 I think it was the other way around where the House of Dusk Fallen had turned mercenary and were working with the Shadow Legion remnants. Those Shadow Legion as well as the Tormentor and Subjugator that were commanding them were loyal to Yirix the Psion rebel, so they’ve probably got more on their agenda than mercenary work
