Dude this is perfekt. Duuuuude. I own a beafy PC 4090, 5800x3d. I Love constant FPS Lock. Allways Had hitches little but there. With afterburner Lock the framtimes are flat but you get latency. In Game ist better vor latency but stutters are there. Now they are gone!!

Won't get that cause the video is fake, i mean, the Xbox Game Bar might take you a couple of fps at max on a low end older pc, maybe something more, but in the video he gains around 20 fps, which is impossible and fake. As i said Game bar might take some fps on really old and slow PCs only, but not so many as he shows.

The test at the end is very inconsistent because left you are somewhere else getting less/more fps and right somewhere else getting less/more fps. Try to go in a training match and test the excact same location synced with the video.

Was randomly getting 99% fps dropping to 1fps very frequently playing baldur's gate 3 today. Game was jumping from 144fps to 1fps causing unplayable stuttering which it has not done before across 200+ hours of gameplay. I was very sceptical if this would work or not but i was willing to try anything. It actually not only worked but improved the overall fps stability by 15-20 frames? I'm speechless. May not work for everyone but definitely worked for me.

Keep in mind, as you travel around in large games, a quick and temporary stutter that your system cannot help happens when a game is switching servers. Large games are not hosted on one server and need to port out to another for running other portions of the game.

@OGTech I'm also making a video on it. I don't use any 3rd party software to remove the instances from the registry. When you remove presencewriter there are still calls made to open the program and is also logged on Event viewer. I also remove Cortana. I really don't like apps running in the background using cpu my resources. Example Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsRuntime\ActivatableClassId\Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter is a starting point for removing it from the registry there is more entries but obviously too much to put in a reply but you simply search and delete.

i am begging for anyone to help me figure this out. i have an alienware laptop i bought no more than 1 and a half years ago, i was originally able to run high performance games, like resident evil games, dead by daylight, and games like that on very high fps, usually 200-300, with no frame loss, lag, or issues of any sort. recently, whenever i try to play a game, i will experience frame drops where my fps will go from its regular 200-300+. to maybe 12 or less. it started with just this fps loss but in the last month or so after an hour or so of playing, my pc will completely shut down. sometimes it gives me 1 red and 1 blue blink on the power button, but most times it just shuts down. its recently gotten so bad i cannot play games at all because within 10-15 minutes my pc will shut down. my cpu reaches 80-99 when playing these games and sits at 44 or less when doing basic tasks. its always been this way since i got it but this shut down and fps drop problem has only been happening for a few months. i have tried everything from using different power cords, to factory resetting, to updating every driver and windows multiple times. PLEASE if anyone has any idea what this is, i would appreciate the help.

You show a comparison that merely shows a difference in fps when stutter is about increases in the frame time and nothing to do with the actual amount of fps. Everybody would choose 100 fps with a steady frame time of say 6ms over 200fps with frame times going from 3ms to 30+ms.... Regardless getting rid of game bar was potentially one of the ways I solved my stuttering (as I did it together with a lot of other things) and vastly improved my experience....

I am not sure, that it helped,... maybe it did, seems to be a bit better, but still getting some stutters and dips. But that can be game optimisation or game engine limits... At least I got about 4-7 more min fps in average in most of my games, but the 1 and .1% lows are mostly the same with a constant difference of 1 or 2 fps better. And i am talking about the big dips in some of my games. But that can be an AMD thing as well. My system 5800x3d 4080 founders 32gb cosshair 3600 cl18 2TB pcie4 kingston 7000 nvme ssd. I made sure to have the same windows version and drivers after applying this method. (for about 4 days) Tested it with: cyberpunk (no difference at all) 7 days to die (better min fps, about 4-6) / (2 more max fps, but mostly capt) vallheim (1-2 more min fps) (max fps capt anyway on my 165 hz monitor, in areas with a lot of buildings and decoration about 2 more fps) the witcher 3(1-2 better min fps) / (max fps capt with no rt / with rt maybe 1 more fps, but this can be run to run variance) space engeneers (0-1 more min fps) (max fps capt anyway) Overall it seems to help a bit with framerate, but its not a magic trick. Everything is not benchmarked, only monitored and I played a bit, watched the fps count and thats it. Even if there are small improvements and its not just imagination, I didnt feel any difference. Do it if you want to, but I would say, its not really worth it your time, especially considering the gains... But anyway, at least something that seems to help at least a little bit and not another guide, that promisses and does not deliver or even break something. I didnt ran into problems after applying this settings and I tested it for about a week and gona keep the settings for the while beeing. edit: forgot to mention, I played a few more games, but did not whrite down the results, but its over all about inbetween the results I mentioned bevore. Beween no difference and a few more fps.

Uhm. I can only presume that "gamebarpresencewriter" is controlling the windows gamebar somehow. You know that you can just switch off the thing entirely, right? Toggle is in the window settings under "gaming".

Answer to your q - Renaming part starts at 03:28, And before that, we need to give back ownership to the original owner, so that part starts at 02:51. In order to disable the GameBarPresenceWriter, you need to rename the application so it will stop running in the background 0:47. And you can rename it to whatever you like 03:33. Also, you need to put something you can remember because if something goes wrong, you can change it back to the default 03:38. You just need to remove the extra text that you typed in there to revert it 03:49.

It has a lot of useful features other than recording your screen. And if the gamebar is causing your PC to stutter then you have other issues, it isn't the gamebar. There are also settings for the gamebar you can look at first before completely disabling it.

The reason for stutter, at least with Intel CPUs, are E-Cores. Disable E-Cores and every game will have NO stutter. If that doesn't fix your stutter, something else is also wrong

Actually you do not really need to disable your E-Cores, another settings if all else does not solve it, is to DISABLE game mode in windows 10/11, contrary to what people believe, leaving it on might cause stutters in some game, and may help in others, but there are cases where turning it off will help, particularly if the game is also using background processes.

Click advanced then press search all user are in the list but this is not most peoples problem in my experience. what most people are doing incorrectly is letting the game control the frames. DO NOT do that. USe nvidia / AMD control panel to lock your refresh rate of tyhe display - in my case 60 and enable vsync/gsync if needed. then disable the frame lock in games and let them run unlocked. frame times will be a LOT better - stutters will be gone nothing to do in a future either just keep ya frame lock on. nvidia cards sometimes need switching to prefer max performance in some of the settings as well to get the best out of them. Nvidia game overlay also causes frame time issues in a LOT of games too

The thing is you cannot even reach 60 fps in some games, no matter the age of the game nor the in game settings. Capping the framerates through nvidia's control pannel does nothing, what's the point of locking it to for example 60 when the game can barely churn out, say, 30? And it's pretty ironic this keeps happening even on high end pcs. There isn't really a way to not get stutters; using msi afterburner and rivatuner is a must if you want to play anything at consistent framerates. And that means that there's overclocking involved. Yikes. But I mean, nothing bad should happen if you use rivatuner to force the gpu and cpu to give you consistent framerates. That is, if you are trying to achieve up to only 60 framerates because I can just imagine how fast would the temeratures rise at higher frames. However, I leave this up to others to decide whether they want to overclock or not since it can be very risky.

Great video man ! I wanna ask about something pretty annoying that's happening to me which is 1 fps drop it happens in many games like r6s/ going medieval / csgo ... etc basically the frames drop from 144 to 143 and the screen stutter really bad it happens for like 1 second and it's pretty annoying any ideas of what is causing that?

you are not getting 1 fps drop, its +24fps drop but in your fps capture seems like it's just 1 fps.

@@tajbaroudi550 try turning the game process to high / above normal priority, if after that you have problems with loading screens, menus or something like that try to reinstall the game from scratch, remove every folder and everything that you may have of the game, it will reset everything that you did to get more fps in the game (occasionally when you put/change a lot of things to get an fps boost, it may get that fps drop effect due to windows over boost your game with a performance that can't handle itself properly). i recommend searching for some software that cleans your ram almost every second so that you don't get 100% use out of your cpu, it may help but can make everything worse, if that happens to make things worse just don't use it, uninstall that software and try another or just don't use it at all. sry about my english, not the best ig, but i hope it helped you.

im not sure but i think this is because of heat, you could test out undervolting your cpu and check if that helps!

i buy recently a RX 6700 XT 12GB and before i had a GTX 1660 6GB and with the new video card i have on new games in 2k resolution many stutters, i didn't try your solution for now because i see only today uour video but i have solved disabling all V-sync function for video card and game settings and the stuttering is gone and fps improved, but it depends on the monitor i have in my case, but i write for who didn't resolve the problem and think to try your solution for alternative, thanks.
