Just saw this it is a nice pack. The one camera he did not say for the remotes is Pentax..... One reason I am considering this unit is it has a remote for Pentax :) Very few support Pentax. But the video was great in the sense it gave a nice overview of the system.

Great products from Elinchrom, I just bought the ELB500 and Skyport Plus. CAUTION, before any test please upgrage your firmware, mine were with old firmware out of the box and couldnt figure out why the wont work! After updating (3 minutes for both products) it works great!

Love the walk through with all the components. It is a real shame that the cables are not detachable from the light, like the Quadra. So my only question is, how durable is the cable and the connection to the flash head? My old Quadra was amazing in that my cables would eventually get worn and were easily replaced, whereas these new heads would be at the mercy of cables durability.

This kit doesn't include a stand, but you CAN get wheeled stands from Kupo. I generally try to avoid wheels as I find them to add instability but yes, you can definitely find wheeled stands.

Hi Felix, Thank you very much for your very informative videos, I really appreciate them. I have this set and I my light felt yesterday and the flash tube broke and need to replace it. I looked online for the replacement tube but none of the ones I found have the same flash tubes I found have the same code that is recommended in the manual (24090) It is very confusing to me. I do not want to buy the wrong tube for it. What would you recommend me to do? Thank you in advance.

For the ELB 500 lights, the cable is integrated into the light itself. So it’s not a separate item.

Hi Felix, What's your opinion about Godox portable strobes vs getting an ELB500 pack today? Seems like there are a lot of parts to carry around, compared to a single piece. Why would one pick ELB over that? Just curious. :)

I explain this a little bit in the video above. The elb 500 is one of the lighting heads. I care much more about what’s inside my modifier being LIGHT (so that it’s easier to hold, rig, etc). having the pack/battery separate to the flash head means I save a lot of weight and space inside my modifier. So I’d rather have that. I think the fact that there’s a separate cable, head and pack is a benefit, not a drawback.

Does the pack only output 500ws if you have two head linked up, or can it output 1000ws because each head can both reach 500ws?

The total power output would be split. So with two heads you’d have around 250 in each.

Why isn't this fact more prominently displayed. A battery powered strobe is often used outdoors and a 250 Ws head is too weak to overpower the sun.
