I finished assembling the engine and installed it on the chassis. Some hints on the distributor drive shaft end float and correct position for installation.

after watching 9 of your videos it finally hit me, you sound just like Father Guido Sarducci from SNL. I love it.

Love these videos! The world heaves a sigh of relief at the reappearance of Stephanie, after she was fired in an earlier video. Take a bow Stephanie.

Oh, she was a great helper, I couldn't fire her :) She did a great job with the frame and all the suspension parts. She derusted and painted everything and also spent many hours cleaning all the hardware on the bench grinder with a wire wheel. So I can't fire her before the 1970 is finished LOL I might need her again. Probably after that....

Yep. It is pretty straight forward. The annoying part is to readjust the valves after that!

The valves needed readjusting after the first hours of running on every engine I rebuilt. I think that the valves, and possibly lifters/pushrods reseat themselves after getting warm. Priming the lubricating oil system is an excellent idea and probably saves a lot of unnecessary wear. I remember strapping a seat onto the Jag XK120 chassis and driving it over 50 years ago! Looking forward to the next part. :-)

I prime engines by using the oil squirting gun in the port where the pressure switch is.

I reached for my phone but never picked it up, you can't fool me! ;) If I ever need to rebuild an engine I wan't you to do it, even though it would have to be shipped from Norway to Canada, it's worth it.

Some got fulled. Including myself! Couple times! Just ship me to Norway, I'd love to visit LOL. You know I just started rebuilding engines few months ago :)

I'm about to muck with my distributor drive gear so now I know how to put it back in. The GT6 and TR6 engines are very similar.

Wouldn't the push rods have to be oriented the same way they came out? So perhaps after the engine runs for awhile they re-orient themselves and this is why you have to readjust after the engine has been run for a while?

Looking good Elin. Just one thing, is that the right colour on the valve cover? As i remember it from looking at both my 4 cyl and also the 6 cyl engine the cover is painted silver. Anyway thanks for the video. Have a pleasant weekend....
@RustyBeauties

Thanks Ulrik! I am not 100% sure, but I think you are right, they all came with silver covers from the factory. Probably someone decided that a blue cover will suit their car better and changed the color. Since John was OK with it I didn't change it. It was in a good condition so we just cleaned it. Actually John cleaned it himself if I remember well.

Yes, I did look at my phone just before you asked if I thought it was my phone. Does the black cat running in the background of the teaser have something to do with the next video? Did you cross its path? Will you have bad luck? Is it a tiny jaguar? Lol. Another entertaining video - Thanks Elin.

Weber.

@@RustyBeauties *TWO* Weber 32/36 DGV's seems like a lot of carburetion on a TR6. I have two Mikuni HSR42 carbs on my Triumph Vitesse which is ample.
