ED, I am a rugby man just like you, and have followed both Doddie and Rob's stories over the past couple of years. I also watched an Irish media legend and personal TV friend Charlie Bird go through the same thing here in Ireland. Your strength and humble words resonate your character, and how you are able to face such adversity with such bravery. Like Doddie before you, you are right to find new purpose in your life, and to focus on family and living. The hope is that in the next while they find a way of delaying progress of the disease, so that it becomes a disease that is managed for life like diabetes, HIV, etc. My heart goes out to you and your family, but on a personal note my sincere admiration for the way you have handled this horrible twist in life, and that is above anything you could have ever hoped to achieve on the rugby paddock. Let me know how I can contribute to your charity.
