I am not a Christian so I am not trying to defend Christianity but the comparison you made is totally wrong. Fascism is based on the ideology of white superiority while Christianity is a religion based on the belief of one god. Of course it has led to horrible actions through medieval times but that is something that is long gone and it actually appears that those beliefs of discrimination are actually eliminating by the day due to the christian church wanting to maintain and increase its following. Neonazism on the other hand still holds those horrible beliefs of fascism and values them.

I think that she's secretly not a Scientologist. [she just can't be - not a serious one anyway] Her terrific performance is easy for her - because she constantly feels like somebody is watching her. No "acting" required. She's as much of a brainwashed scientologist as June/Offred is a fundamentalist Christian baby machine. Scrape away the thin religious veneer, and you can see a free-spirited lady waiting for her chance to be set free - that's why her performance is so successful.

There's a line in Bojack Horseman that explains cults like Scientology really well: "What?! No! It's not a cult. It's just a dogmatic school of thought taught by a for-profit organization with the promise of social and professional opportunities." So basically, "pay money to join our organization and we'll make you famous." I wonder how many parents threw money at it to make their kids famous child actors that resulted in the kids turning to drugs and hating their lives.

For a show that started with such promise, S3 sucked. She had already made Underground contacts in S1. The revolution should be well under way by now. The Handmaid's Tale is the only series I've seen that stars Elizabeth Moss. In fact, it's pretty much the only place I've seen her. When she walked in and sat down, all I could picture in my head was that this was actually and truly Offred/June, attending a talk show after the fall of Gilead to tell her tale. And that feeling was really, really cool. Because it's also plausible. Talk shows would most likely be reinstated after Gilead is gone, and I could see June attending one.

Celebrities all in denial about bad Scientology practices, and of course they’re not exposed to such practices. Moss’ comments (and Moss recently is still defending scientology): - _Vulture_ interview: She has previously spoken about how the church is personally helpful to her, not anti-gay, and “grossly misunderstood by the media.” But Moss does not talk about Scientology even with friends and seems very comfortable with how uncomfortable it makes other people. “I would feel the same way, honestly,” she says. “I think if there was something that I didn’t know and didn’t understand, I would probably feel as opinionated. You know how you’re opinionated about when someone breaks up? Celebrities break up and you just feel like you know what happened?” - _The Advocate_ interview: Q: As a Scientologist, how do you interpret your church’s stance on gay people? Moss: One of the most important things I take from my church is the idea of personal freedom and our rights as human beings, and that includes the right to date a man or a woman. Personal freedom is a very important concept in my religion, and I translate that to sexual orientation …. There isn’t really any dogma or scripture, yes or no, right or wrong on that particular subject in my church. It’s more open to personal interpretation, and that’s my interpretation. Q: Is it fair to say that your church’s stance on homosexuality is misunderstood by the media? Moss: Many of my church’s stances and concepts are grossly misunderstood by the media. It’s a long list.
