In today's vlog I take the next step working on the kitchen renovations in the cabin. I also plant tulip bulbs in the garden to prepare for next spring and remove flowers from the summer. I hope that you enjoy this wholesome vlog in the garden.

The pink pillow is not to big. Put it in the middle, then arrange the smaller pillows around. If you like the middle size pillow at the end, get another pillow of the exact same size for the other side to balance the look. That beautiful dress with the red roses would make a nice holiday dress. Wear with a red beret, olive or hunter green cardigan, green or red tights and cute black boots. You will be set for Christmas. LOL Looking forward to see you style up those beautiful vintage gems.

You could always cut out flowers from the wallpaper rolls you do have and create your own motif filling in with paint. My mom created a border for my childhood bedroom from a roll of wallpaper by cutting individual flowers and creating her own partner. It was a labor of love and 50 years later is still one of my favorite gifts from my lovely mother.

Hello I just wanted to suggest you put tile a quarter way up or half way up the wall to match the wall paper you already have. Then you should have enough paper for the entire wall. Good luck. Much enjoy your videos and channel. Cheers from America

The blue daisy like flowers with the yellow centres are Michaelmas daisies...part of the Aster family.... they come out in the autumn. Cut your wild flowers down and leave the cuttings on the floor for a couple of weeks so the seeds will go back into the ground and grow next year....then remove the cuttings and compost 👍🏻. Elise take no notice of rude people... they are not walking in your shoes....you need to do what makes you happy 🙏🕯️🙏

Perhaps you could get some minimally expanding window grade expanding foam to fill the gaps around your window by the stove. You have to be careful that it is the right kind, or it could push the frame apart. However, it would fill the area and stop drafts. It would expand and poof out too far, that's just what it does, but you can cut it off, smooth it flat, and paint it. I LOVE the work you are doing in the cabin, and the fantastic '70s colors. 😍😍😍

External grade Polyfilla will do the same without expanding too much. Very easy to mix and apply with an artists trowel, look for the cheap plastic ones in the dollar stores. Baby wipes are also the artists choice for cleaning up without water. Xx

Hi Elise, I noticed you planted your new bulbs on their sides. You should put the root end in first. The roots should be at the bottom (straight up and down) in the ground.

Ah, your poor bulbs! The pointy side is where the flower comes out, so it should always point up. Those dresses were gorgeous, especially the blue and silver one. Perfect for Christmas. 🎄

You are right that the pointy side should be up, but the bulbs will come up eventually no matter which way they are put in the ground (unless a bulb-loving animal gets to them first!).

I couldn't exactly tell, but to me it looked like the bulbs weren't planted right. They are like onions. The round side goes down and the pointed part goes up. They are very particular about being planted the right way. Like I said, I couldn't tell.. best of luck to you and your flowers. Always exciting when the bulbs come up, you know its spring or will be soon. About the pillows, we used the big ones on the floor and younger visitors loved sitting on them. Especially for movie nights, etc.

Great general tip for planting any bulbs is to plant on the depth which equals three heights of the one you're currently planting

Just so you know...you don't have to dig up the roots of the sunflowers. Just cut the stem off as low as you can. The rest will just disintegrated on their own over the course of the winter. And it's actually good for the soil for planting next year.

Elise my dear!!! You can clean up the wild flower garden after they have bloomed and sort of died back by trimming down . They will keep coming back!!! :) It's best if you dead head ....which is pick or cut back. This encourages more growth and if you take the time to weed and clean up the soil next year they will look so good!!!! Love your garden cottage!!!!

Maybe you could do a tile backsplash behind your kitchen counter and then wallpaper above it, so you have enough wallpaper and you don’t have to wait on Urban Outfitters.

Just a suggestion for the kitchen wall. In a past video I think you said you had bought some paint that matched the background of the wallpaper? You could always always paint the wall and then do cut out of the wallpaper that you have and just paste them up in the same kind of design if the wallpaper. Just a thought if Urban Outfitters doesn't come through and you still want that look and those colors

I love this idea! You could add green stems with a little paint. It would match the green gingham skirt. Put a clear coat over them so they don't peel. Smaller flowers from the wallpaper could go on the window frames. This original idea would stretch the amount of wallpaper you have and you can forget about Urban Outfitters(after you get your money back.) If I lived in Denmark I would come and help you.😊

The cabin is looking good, I am glad you got to plant your tulips and other flowers but I realised you didn't plant them properly!! The tips have to be planted upwards and the route bit has to be at the bottom in other words touching the soil? Maybe I did not see right but please make sure they are planted correctly otherwise they won't come up and they will grow in the soil, this happened to me before!! Keep well😘😘🍁🍂🌻🍁🍂🌻🌻🌻🌻

Insulation around those open areas of your windows will help fitting and keep air out and cut some more that will fit around the closest part to the window adjoining the wood trim you just did which will cover the insulation. Making a window pane all around... i hope i described that right!... hard to explain by writing it out 🌸

Blue daisies are perennial (will come back next year) asters, may be native, if U can them back in early summer they will be more compact. :D Love blue asters, they bloom for a very long time and pollinators love them.

I think instead of waiting on the wallpaper you could paint the wall and find a really large frame at a thrift store and put a piece of the wallpaper in the frame. Then hang it in the middle of that wall. If the wallpaper comes later and you feel like changing things up you can then wallpaper the area and if you need what is in the frame just remove it and piece it together. Or if you order that other wallpaper, which is super cute, you could hang the framed other wallpaper in the other room of your cottage. Just a thought. PS I luv that u have “dangerous tools” in that girlie basket! Lol.🥰🍁

Every late fall before frost you need to cut back all plants to a couple of inches. So there all ready to grow again in the spring. Then in spring put sheep manure mixture in beds and sprinkle miracle grow furtilizer for flowers around flowers .You will have beautiful plants doing this.

Pink pillow is not to big. Also you could cut out the flowers in the wall paper you have and place them on that wall. Also put foam in the can around your windows in the large holes it will stop the air flow. You can cut it smooth after it dries and then paint it. The cabin is looking so cute!!!!

A fun suggestion..start from both sides ( one on left and the other start from the right side) with the wallpaper. Leave a stripe down the center to paint additional flowers. I think that would be really cool looking. Pink pillow is fine..just move it around to other side and put on angle with little pillows in front. Super cute. I heard a great tip about planting bulbs to make look natural..throw them along the ground in groups ...and then plant where they land xx Tile places may have a whole lot of broken tiles or small groups of left over tiles ..they make great Mosaic areas ..have seen used on floors , walls and pots ... so many ideas ...Your place is looking so lovely and love the surprise flowers!!
