Elise, since you have electricity in your cabin, may I suggest a small electric fireplace to put in your living/bedroom? It would help warm up the space faster and give the room even more ambiance.
@maureenrowlands92452 жыл бұрын
Hi sweetie, with the curtains, you need to put the hooks through the little slots between where the strings run, and get more hooks and runners for the curtain rod and they will stand up better and hide the top. If you want to just go with what you have you need to pull the strings at the end of the curtain to gather it up to fill the space exactly. Be sure to put a knot in the strings at one end before you gather them up!

@@EliseBuch I agree. It should work perfectly as Maureen suggests but to be honest when stitching the tape onto the curtain you usually run a line of stitches at the top and bottom of the tape- not through the centre so I am not sure if that would also help- Having said that you are doing a great job.

Hi Elise, so here's my idea for colorful chairs. Get the paints that match the colors of your floral wallpaper and paint the chairs in those colors. For example you can paint one green chair, one orange chair, one pink chair and one yellow chair. I think 2 samples of each color should be enough to paint the chairs. Thank you.
@katbar60662 жыл бұрын
I think that is a great idea. That will really add some colour and keep the theme of the wallpaper going as they are such lovely colours.

With your curtain, you should be able to pull the strings so it bunches up & add a few more hooks, then you won't need to re-sew! Xxx
@michellebyrom65512 жыл бұрын
Pulling the strings to gather the curtain could be enough not to need more hooks.
@gailsingle26242 жыл бұрын
Also you have the hooks in the wrong place. Not on the strings in the loops between the strings. Plus sew either side of the tape.

I was going to say the same as Stephanie Tharle. The thin string threads on the white curtain tape is mean for pulling tighter on material so that it bunches up nicely and fits the space better. You will then have a nice frill hiding the curtain track. It all looks lovely though, so well done so far 👍👏
@Sunnbuzz2 жыл бұрын
I came to say this, I watched a DIY video years ago and saw them pull the string on the strip I hope she sees this link kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2fRgZKQZ9pnjZY
@katbar60662 жыл бұрын
It could be that Elise has not made enough width of curtain to do that because you usually double or triple the width before pulling the strings in to make it bunch nicely. By pulling it in a little.

You should put Velcro strips on it curtain and rim of counter & Velcro the curtain then you can remove it and change out the fabric ;).

Vinyl peel and stick doesn’t stay up well when it gets too cold. It isn’t an Urban Outfitter issue, it’s a product issue. I’m guessing because your cabin gets cold the vinyl paper simply lets go. You might Ben able to use different glue (like you did) and get it to stick.

I’m also wondering if her walls are textured or a bit rough… it seems they would be like the rest of the walls in the cabin. Peel and stick works best on smooth walls. Traditional glueable wallpaper would work best

Hi. Nice cabin. In order to tidy up the look of the green curtain. You need to pull the strings (at least 2) until the curtain is exactly the length of the gap it covers, then evenly distribute the fabric between the folds. The curtain will look much tidier and the edge will stand up properly and visually close the gap on top.

Ok, peel & stick wallpaper is wonderful if you have a thermostat & can keep your home warm in winter & cool in summer. Cold weather will cause adhesive to shrink, so sticky wallpaper will release from walls, and manufactured flooring separates in winter if a house isn't heated. Tricky. Good luck with the wallpaper, the glue should help, but other sections may fall due to the cabin being so cold. Good luck with the water situation. Bring water from home and pee before you leave your apartment. 🙃🙃🙃 Yikes.

What kind of toilet do you have? If it flushes with water, the supply will have been turned off at the mains. For comforts sake, and no frozen water, you might have to improvise a camping bucket style toilet using a plastic bag and water catcher. Water can go to the garden/drain and the rest can go to the rubbish bin.
