i used to have a ukulele like the baby one when i was like 4, 5, and 6. i played the living crap out of that thing. my mom tuned the strings a little tighter, so i thought i was so good. the thing lasted 3 years. when i was 6 and i was "playing" for my mom and dad, i strummed to hard (which is how you'd strum on a regular ukulele) and the strings broke. i cried for hours. and im not exaggerating. i cried myself to sleep that night

I ordered a pretty good one on amazon, it was around $36 and I’m no Ukelele expert but It sounds pretty good to me. It also came with picks(idk why) a,chord chart, a digital tuner, a strap, and some stickers to put on the ukelele kind of as a guide. I feel like it was a pretty good deal plus I rarely ever have to tune the uke because it stays in tune so well

@elise Those uke’s strings are usually what ppl call “all stretch” string which means that unlike a good quality uke over time these strings will just keep on stretching and not get stiffer and stay in place longer

I learned on an aloha uke that I got from a white elephant Christmas party. The exact one you bought in the video. It was a very trusty little uke for about two years. I then upgraded to a Luna tattoo uke (exact one on the background) and I’ve had that uke for about a year and a half. Once I got serious about playing I replaced the strings and t made all the difference. But a $20 uke can be used! And it can work lol

If $20 is your budget, then I would say go for it! A low quality uke is better than nothing at all. However, if you could manage to spend $30 more, you will see the quality improve drastically. Here's a $50 one that I recommend amzn.to/2th7Gm4 I personally think the $20 ukes aren't a good investment because they don't last long and don't produce as nice of a sound. However, it is up to you and how much your willing to spend!

The best way to find out if you like an instrument without investment is to borrow one, or find a used one of higher quality. I would think that you would become quite frustrated with using something so low quality and give up. If you have a friend or relative that has a uke, borrowing is best! :)

Cheyenne Rush If you can, you should go to a Guitar Center or some other store with ukes to try out one. Maybe if you like it you can get one to your budget. (Guitar Center is quite expensive)

I have a challenge for you, make that $2 ukulele playable. :D Maybe changing strings and pegs would help a bit. Probably not much, but could be funny video. :D And for trying cheap stuff, next time do it with Wish, there are so many ukes and accessories there, maybe you could get couple ukes there (maybe one ultra cheap and one, that isn't expensive but also doesn't seem total crap) and some accessories (some various more or less strange picks, strap, bag, tab stamp, capo or sth like that).
