Nice Video! I was looking for a video like this! I bought a Elite Screen Aeon Edge Free 135" CineGrey 5D and didnt find a video of the new Version at all. The older Version looked problematic to me... But your video shows that Version 2 is just amazing. Everything.. the springs... the aluminium bars... which are stronger than version 1 i guess? then the black bar which is nice as well... on version one the black bar was just a joke. Thanks for the great video!
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
where did you order the 5d from? elite website? I helped a friend install the version 1 of this screen. That screen attached to the frame with Velcro, and the trim piece was a role of black tape for the bezel, which looked cheap. version two, the one in this video, has a nice pencil thin black bezel piece that bolts on and the screen attaches with springs. both version hang on the wall the same way with French cleat brackets, which are super easy to install.

@@porsche911luv9 I got mine from elite screen website. I bought it as a deal with 35 % off.. I paid 780 euro for 135 inch aoen edge free cinegrey 5d Haven't installed it yet. But I also got version two and I'm very excited about the changes against version one which was a bit crappy... But the bad thing is that there are no videos or instructions out there about version two. Only your video describes it
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
if yours is like mine have a pliers and a bit of sand paper handy to smooth out the bent corners of the frame. I think I had 3-4 bent edges that I fixed and then sanded. Not a hard job but didn't expect to have to do it. Also, before connecting the frame make sure to have the correct amount of springs in each channel. the manual/instructions tells you how many springs has to be in each section in relation to the sz of the screen. good luck to you. I saw a 5d in person at a brick and mortar store and it looked great.

I wish you had shown how you measured and assembled the wall bracket too, I'm getting my screen next week and a little worried I might have it crooked or something, also can you pls tell me after installation how much the screen moves/slides sideways (in Inches) I wonder if I can adjust the screen position according to my seating, thanks for the video!
@porsche911luv94 жыл бұрын
Sumit Bhal you can move the screen side to side quite a bit depending on how far you space the French cleats. The entire upper frame has a lip that catches the cleat. So, really flexible hanging. Basically pick a spot, put screw in wall, put level on wall until you find the level spot with screw, and choose how much spacing you want between screws. Attach cleats to screws, put screen on wall, and done

Since you have a dedicated home theater room with controlled ligh why you didn't went for the simple Aeon CineGrey screen (no 3D or 5D) for deeper contrast or for the AEon CineWHite screen?
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
this gives more options to have more lights on when watching sports or movies. If I could go back in time I would have probably bought the white screen as I wouldn't need to calibrate my pj like I do now. Everything is too yellow and the blues are over saturated.
@dazzz8875 жыл бұрын
Very nice video. Just wondering is there room in the back to install LED light stripes all around the screen frame?
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
yes, but the screen sits so close to the wall that the led's look like a marquee more then a constant light (dots, vs solid light line) so, you can install lights but then you need to install the screen further away from the wall to make it look like a SI screen.

Gd video great description be gd if you showed a glimpse of the quality of a video etc Question. Why did you go with this colour of screen rather than the standard white what is better ??
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
chk my channel for a comparison video of a homemade screen vs this screen, to see video being played on the screen. if I could go back i'd have bought the white screen now, because I have full control of the lights, and I wouldn't need to calibrate my pj. good luck to you!

I am planning on something similar to this in 150" because I need the acoustically transparent screen. Amazon reviews in the negative range talk a lot about shipping damage and easy to tear covering. I'm not worried too much about shipping damage, I have a long history in metalwork, so I have no fear of aluminum framing and I would be doing the same thing you did with the corners to make sure they're not too sharp. I know the covering I need is not the same as yours, but did you find the covering to be fragile? Also, French cleat mounting - is this top and bottom or top only with the frame hanging unsecured at the bottom? I need to fit in on an unusual wall, but still need access to the space behind the screen (long story, but I have water filters back there) so any detail on how this gets mounted to the wall would be super helpful.
@porsche911luv93 жыл бұрын
Cover on mine doesn’t feel fragile. It has a top French cleat with a bottom bracket to secure bottom. However, I didn’t secure the bottom to the wall on mine.

@reyesmontemayor69985 жыл бұрын
Would you have to install a frame to the back to install led back lighting to this setup?
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
Reyes Montemayor no, there’s enough room to stick led lights to the side of the frame , which I have done. However, the screen mounts so close to the wall that the led’s have a marquee dot looking light pattern. What I plan to do is build a 2x4 frame behind the screen to move the screen away from the wall 2” to give it a continuous light look vs the current dotted look. I used Phillips hue lights which work well for my application.

Was the space you have the screen at custom built or diy looking for some ideas for my basement
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
if you're referring to the "nook area" it was already in there. The size of that nook area is 6 x15. It's painted a flat charcoal color and really does a great job of keeping light from bouncing around the room. If you're referring to the cabinet I built that myself and slid it into place on 2x4 after it was finished. The best part of that cabinet build is that I left a 6" lip on the top of the cabinet towards the back. so, the cabinet top sits flush against the wall but creates a gap of 6" behind it to leave room to hide all the cables between the wall and the cabinet itself.

@EliteScreensInc5 жыл бұрын
@@vullcambodia6836 These are projection screens so the actual media player or gaming system would actually attach to the projector. When buying a gaming projector, always ask the manufacturer if the lag-time is sufficient for game play.
@porsche911luv95 жыл бұрын
well, it could be plugged into a projector but more than likely you will plug it into a receiver and the receiver would connect to the projector. If you plugged into the projector you'd have picture but no sound. there are a few projectors that do have speakers built in but usually they aren't the best quality.
@EliteScreensInc5 жыл бұрын
Correct. I primarily wanted to clarify that the gaming system or media player would in fact go through the projector and not the screen. Many people mistake our screens for large flat panel displays. I was not initially certain if that was your question but I wanted to answer it for the benefit of the group.
