I gave 2 cyclops the one and only meta alloy I had on board the other day. It didn't end this well for me, as they both tried to tractor beam it in at the same time and niether could. So they got mad and took it out on me.

I have a theory. Many others also have this. I believe that there are two clans or tribes or races of thargoids, the 'flower clan' seen above as they look like flowers and the 'prism clan' which are shaped like prisms. I believe the flowers are just friendly and only harm if harmed and that they are running away from the prism clan (scouts). The scouts are proven to have attacked stationz while flowers havent. Coincidence.... i think not.

The current story goes that there are 2 factions of thargoids that are fighting each-other out. The one that we have seen so far are using us to slow the other faction down so they can make there retreat. Thats how its told in the book at least. Which is cannon according to FDev

scouts is an attack drones, always angry, all the time. But the theory is true. By some rumours the Alliance even talked with Oresrians and (confirmed) touched some technology of salvaged ships from 1st Thargoid War.

Purely speculation, but while Frontier are updating the servers for Powerplay and releasing our new shiny Thargoid weapons, the Thargoids will too increase in number and frequency. I'd expect to see a far more widespread presence and variety of Thargoid ships within the coming week..

Michael Darkmoor That symbol has actually been linked to a combat rank of sorts. Different symbols mean different levels of difficulty whilst fighting the Thargoids.

They're also different from the original crash site thargoids, the ones from the YE OLDE game of elite. The octagon ones. So we can say they are also different factions. Ship and faction. Are the ships themselves the aliens? Sorry for the the random questions. Just really hyped for the next moves the Thargoids will do.

Smough The Executioner The Thargoid ships appear to be biological, but they could also be genetically engineered by alien scientists. We may very well be seeing the true "Thargoid" when we look at the ship, but based on the fact that they appear to have a canopy and there are different types of ships, it's more likely the Thargoid is inside, piloting the ship.
