This is still correct in 2020 (mostly) the target shows up in blue on the navigation menu, best thing about this guide is the fly at slow speed part.

if anyone else has trouble finding a target, if you have searched and searched all contacts in the RIGHT system, don't waste any more time! go solo mode, try searching again. Good chance they will show up immediately. worked for me just now.

One of the updates I read this morning was that your targets might be traveling in supercruise so you may have to actually chase them down and interdict them.

It makes more sense if you meet your enemies that way I think. Plus it takes an extra level of commitment because now you HAVE to have a Frame shift interdictor if you want to go on these missions. My hope is that they will have scalable assassination missions as well. Not just Pirate lords in hopped up Anacondas but maybe some serious criminals in smaller ships as well like Asps, Vipers or Imperial Clippers.

The original target not appearing is annoying as hell. Happened to me and the alt target was allied with my faction and worth next to nothing money. Wasted about an hour.

Oh sweet Christ, I came here just to find tips for these missions, but now I learn they can get even worse by giving you several possible sectors instead of just the one?! Curious though, I have actually managed to find some of my targets in hyperdrive and interdicted them. Was there a change, or is just random chance that they will be available in either? I came here, because my strategy stopped working and my target was nowhere to be interdicted.

Did you know you can set the mouse wheel on the x52pro throttle to cycle through subsystems on a target? It makes targeting subsystems much easier.

I would very much like to get this game but as my pc cant run elite im going to have to wait for the ps4 version, i don't think there would be very much difference between a ps4 and xbone version, i wish they could work on both versions instead of just working on the xbone version, console exclusives are stupid

Thanks!! But how do you deal with the contract updates where they tell you to let them escape? Do you just go to the known locations and find USS, and then just leave? Never got to finish as the contract expired :(

It told me in the chat at the top left, though this isn't how the assassination missions work any longer since they can now be found in super cruise and at that point in the game's development, they couldn't.

I played this game for around 30 hours now and I did't manage to do one single bulletin board mission!!! And I'm not a bad Gamer! I' even managed to destroy a viper (Master) with a sidewinder without buying any new weapons! So you want to tell me I have to play 100 h so that i' have enough money to buy a new ship or new weapons?!!!

The only way I could get any significant sum was by going into the resource extraction site in the Ra system. i found it axcidently and figured out that the low and hazardous are not good for making money either. Now i made around 6'000'000 Cr in 12 h. 😊 And i bought myself first an eagle and then a Viper MK IV

+Jason Chapman The main issue with delivery missions is that you're taking on cargo, this increases your ships mass and in turn reduces your total jump range... only treal way of dealing with it is so upgrade your frame shift drive

I didn't realise you had to check out unidentified signal sources. I took up one assassination mission and was flying around for an hour waiting for my target to show up in contacts. I was even scanning every blasted ship while i was in super cruise. Rather annoying because I never found my target and the mission was failed.....lol.

Don't take this video to heart any longer as the mechanics have been changed, the target could still be in one but most assassination missions are now on a clock where the target will be in the designated system for a set amount of time, from a certain time. You can then find them in supercruse and they will need to be interdicted.

Darkfoin Foin I just un-selected the Anaconda as a target... Basically I was targeting nothing, so the weapons had nothing to track and reverted to their forward 'fixed' position.

Max Mustermann usually its just finding unknown sources but if they are kill missions like kill 29 pirates that im doing now you will have to just look at all signal sources (ive found weak ones to be best) for contact missions (not done many) i look at the nav beacon and search around there

I hate this game! It is so depressing and buggy! Every unidentified Signalsource i go in there are only Lawless Masters that kill me a few seconds after i droped out of hyperspace! Bountyhunting is as boring as buying cargo and selling it somewhere else, because you have to fly around and wait until this stupid game is so kind to give you a unidentified signal source! So I need 5 min to go into a unidentified signal source and out again (as long as my ship is still alive after that) and then fly around in hyperspace waiting for an other unidentified signalsource! Are these stupid developers kidding me?! Why cant they just tell me where to go?!!!! The Galaxy and the solar systems are still big enough, even if they tell where to go to do the missions!

No, unless the mission specifies a USS, then they are likely to be in Supercruse, best thing to do is scan the local NAV beacon or ping the discovery scanner, the game will alert you when the target has been detected.
