So the Thrustmaster was nice out of the box. But one year of regular use later it requires significant dead zones, and I've had one of the screws that holds the spring strip out from regular use. The throttle they make for this is really nice, but this stick, and the rudder pedals are seriously lacking.

My t16 joystick drifts downwards. It started about 6 months after purchase with very little playtime. It's definitely a beginner stick I wouldn't recommend it.

solved with deadzone, but yes the T16000 is a low end stick for sure. the twist went to shit for me after only a few months, i fixed it, then the trigger went to shit i have partially fixed that, and now the down button on the hat switch is going also. I have had enough with this but also i have 2000 hours in elite dangerous and several other games with it. so it did a decent job for most of that. So i would say it was decent value for the money.

About twist. You should change dempfer grease to NyoGel 767A or polymethylsiloxane PMS (we call it PMS with different viscosity numbers) for me for example was good 250 000. You can see video in my page how it's working after change. Manual how to change grease you can found on youtube page VKB. About buttons click it's very individually. Some guys also don't like sound and feeling and put under button some soft material.

the T16000's sensors are its flaw, Thrustmaster's customer service is even worse.

I have a Gladiator NXT version of the Kosmosima right here atm, but my biggest downside with it is how small (short) the stick is/ feels. Now I'm not sure if I want to keep it, or send it back and get some Virpil Constellation Alpha's - but man, those are like 2x the price of the Gladiator NXTs.

I’ve check the degree of motion between the 2 there, Gladiator from vertical to the furthest in Kosmosima is 20 degrees, and T16000 is 25 degree, indeed huge difference.

Why can't you just get another stick and keep the base the same? Honestly the only good thing in the TM set that's worth it is the Throttle, both the joystick and the pedals suck. The joystick is TOO stiff and has TOO big of a palm rest and the pedals too narrow and inaccurate. The Throttle is the only thing well designed and implemented. I've owned and use both of these products for a month or so. There's no comparison between VKB and TM at that range and I seriously doubt the Warthog is that good either. When you can't even notch a missile using the ground with a Joystick I'm out, and that's the case with the T1600. With the VKB just like with the CH Fighterstick I can flight right through the middle of the Mosque in the Palm Tree Island on Dubai on DCS Persian Gulf. If you don't like the VKB get the CH, is even smoother, has great range and is much bigger, especially at the top, which is why I had to return it.

Just watched the review, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about in the first minute or so. Let's just say he's playing it by ear. A stiff joystick is NOT an exact joystick, that's if you know the difference between precision and exactitude. The TM-1600 is HORRIBLY inexact AND stiff. That's exactly why I got rid of it. You want a joystick that requires little force to control so you can use your smaller muscles which are the ones that provide precision with a gimbal that's designed and calibrated for the pendular momentum (force) that the stick generates. In a playroom you don't have G's pulling you in different directions which is the reason why Sticks in the real world remain stiff after FBW to begin with. It also means you won't fatigue yourself after hours of using it versus cranking it like this in the real world: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHeQpax7aK9oeJo There's NO POINT in a joystick with no force feedback and no forces acting on your body to be stiff on the contrary, it's worse. As for you sending the stick back to VKB good luck, you didn't read the FAQ about return policies with them did you?

@@einarabelc5 Interesting opinion, I assume you are playing atmospheric flight sim, and elite dangerous is a space flight sim They don't act the same way.. I've been playing Elite Dangerous for 1000+ hours and used both stick for a couple hundred hours each. You probably not familiar with FA OFF = Flight assist off thus your point is valid, however I did say the stiffness works on FA OFF player.

@@einarabelc5 WoW what a raging rant... yeah I did read the return policy, I can return it within 14 days of receiving the product. I never put it all together, just checked out the stick and how it sits in my hand. For me it's too short (I've got fingers overlapping on it, so short), but the top area is slightly on the large side. Was thinking of either the NXT Gladiators or the Constellation Alphas from Virpil. So now I'm going to give those a try.

My T16000M FCS (w. throttle) works ok. Never used the twist function on stick. I do not like it however. Played E:D - Horizons about 2 years with the stick (triple elit). The throttle however is another thing.. I wanted to find a "middle". There is no notch or similar. So I fired up the calibrator, and found it myself. Next issue is that when you get it, it feels 'sticky'. Used silicone grease to solve that issue. Joystick has many buttons, and I mostly use them on the stick and the throttle, otherwise I use my Razor tartarus for extra inputs. But it is not great, but you get what you pay for. Had a long time ago CH Products setup - Stick, throttle and rudder. Was awsome. Looking for a better one, perhaps this VKB is something, but meh.. Living in Sweden sucks, so it will take a long time before it get's into stores here.

The VKB is usually much better, the other reviews praise it and it comes lubricated from the factory.

Seems off, other videos I see of the VKB show that it kind of slowly and subltly returns to its original position, even with yaw. Yours seems to return very springy and bouncy, doesn’t look satisfying. Supposed to be greased inside since it doesn’t have a dry clutch, might want to try adjusting the internals or switching springs.

You can't even compare these two.. Thrustmaster breaks so easy. Mine broke after one month.. My replacement vkb is well over a year old now with absolutely no issue

The twist thing actually isn't that bad. When you play DCS with heavy crosswind, you might need the twist to stay in one location to counter it and it is pretty comfortable. Thank you for the review, I know it's old video but I still appreciate it.

Thank-you for the comparison of these two sticks. ;-) Unfortunately, I have to deal with tremors so reaching for the correct key on a keyboard is nearly impossible so I use dual T16000Ms, that are keybound in as efficient a manner as I can... but the Z-axis failure issue has been terrible (6 of 9 sticks have failed / 2 in use, 1 boxed). Could you clarify what you did to fix (so far) your T16KMs Z-axis failure issue and the VKBs button issue (only 6 of 9 can be used)? If I remember correctly the VKB sticks come in left and right hand versions (no swapped parts)?

Hi, 1. I sprayed contact cleaner and WD40 to the twist potentiometer, and it works back to normal. 2. The VKB Sim sticks have a few choices, (left and right handed) also premium and non premium (different in thumb button you can check on their website) 3. The buttons on VKB works well all of them, but depends on the game you play some games just don’t register all the buttons.

When you are in a flight simulator how often does a player very slowly moves the stick with his hand off the joystick? I think NONE. So you complaint about the stickiness doesn't make any sense.

i think you have problem on your stick, there is no dead zone on it or this dangle you are showing in the video that cause of your vessel goes to aside there no better joystick at this price like galdiator!

But you don't. The vkb gladiator nxt uses the same grip as the vkb in this vid. It's only $130 for standard and 150 for premium and it is so much better than than the t16. I bought 2, 1 left hand and a right hand both premium, cost me about $360 shipped,worth every bit.

@@lystic9392 differences are, the thumb button on non pro is just a button, on the pro its a 4 way hat plus the pro comes with extra parts. EX the upper left hat switch can be switched between a 4 way hat or analog stick. Pro comes with analog by default but no need to change it. You can use it as a 4 way then while in game you can press down on it and it turns into the analog controls. Then vice versa. Really nice feature. Honestly Id go with Premium for the small price difference and the extra parts, worth it.
