I theorize that we'll be seeing some sort of CG in the near future featuring Sirius trying to beat Achilles. I hope for espionage/sabotage, perhaps with Alliance forces leading the way under Sirius' thumb as they try to beat Achilles down while pushing forward their own tech.

I told my friend today that its going to be a race to be the fastest player in the game using supercruise and without jumping, how long can you hold it, and how fast can you go.

Jameson Memorial station in Shinrarta Dezhra has it. I've found that INARA doesn't show it. Stumbled upon it when I searched for reinforced composites that did show up.

Yeah, that SCO is INSANE! I accidentally used it & was like HOLY SH!T I'm outta control! Really, I couldn't steer very well and I was burning up almost instantly. I stole a glance at the temperature gauge & I was quickly approaching 400 degrees! So I was trying to drop heat sinks like a mad man! When I finally came to a stop (after spamming "x" to kill the engine) I had 14% hull left. I was REALLY GLAD I had the foresight to reinforce the hull before takeoff. I think I'm just going to go back to an engine that doesn't blow me into & back out of orbit around the cosmos. What an insane ride...

I am currently updating my Scavanger-ASP for High Grade Material farming (those USS's can be really far out sometimes) and my Taxi-Hauler, both with an 5A SCO and a 2A SCO respectively. Works good so far, heat is an issue though, so I use it for boosts mostly. Good to get the ship into gear, away from a Star, and then just coast along with normal SuperCruise. Both FSD's not fully engineered yet, but working on it.... dreaded Datamined Wake Exceptions! ^^ o7

Must admit, I look at the SCO and just think.....why? Can't say it is an 'upgrade' that seems all that necessary. Now, if it was a navigation upgrade allowing use of manual waypoints in the galaxy map to plot a series of sequential frameshift jumps, or an upgrade that allowed us to drop out of a jump into whatever is to be found in witchspace, or something like Star Trek's transwarp drive, then I might be a bit more excited.

There are a few uses where it really comes into its own. Grinding for Odyssey mats? Doing lots and lots of planetary landings and takeoffs? An SCO reduces your time from surface to orbit to around just 10 seconds. That's a HUGE timesaver! Flying lots of missions out to bodies 5,000+ light-seconds out from the primary star? An SCO makes this go SO much faster. Would you like to farm High Grade Emissions WITHOUT having to menu-log even once? An SCO can help you do this.. with more fun and zero immersion breaking relogging.

Sounds like a garbage module. Who wants to cook their ship with extreme heat like that. Just jump full speed into a star for that matter... All the heat sinks and fuel used..No way..come on..and to top that, SCO provides an out of control flight experience. I hate that...granted I don't mind some heat build up at full throttle, I expect serious fuel lost and of course you will need to spend lots of credits to repair the ship once docked. I'll wait..and stay away from deep space missions until the SCO technology has improved. I guess it's called Elite Dangerous for a reason because flying SCO is quite dangerous. What's the glory in a ship on fire in deep space and a fuel rat bring more fuel to a fire...
