Yeah, I finally got a cutter. And I found out right away why nobody ever disembarks at surface ports.

I own a Throngler for PvP, since that's what Braben intended. Four spear members jump into my instance. "What in Aisling?" I shout as I grab my 5 SRB PAs and 24 heatsinks. Blow a sidewinder-sized hole through the first FDL's shield, he clogs on the spot. Turn my plasmas on the gimballed biweave mamba, miss him entirely because the weapons capacitor is still empty. I have to resort to ramming, "Tally ho, zhen who". The plasma ram shreds two cope couriers in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off proximity alarms. Fix my hull at the nearest carrier and charge the last terrified bank tank cutter. He high wakes at 95% shields because his massive mj is impossible to bank back up. Just as fdev intended.

We don't have ship interiors because the devs doesn't want us to "waste time" walking inside it if we are "in a hurry", but still for some ships you have to run the forrest gump marathon to get inside

It's a bit of a "did not think that through" that the ship entrypoints are so far away from the hanger entry/exists. Since most of the time that's where you'd be approaching your ship from, you'd think that they would set things up so these are as close together as is practical? I mean, IRL airports, you don't normally board the plane from the rear, unless there is a boarding bridge going directly there, right?

Nope. Only just grinded the rank last night. I still don't have the rank for corvette either. Neither ship has really interested me enough to bother, the only reason I finally did was in case I decide to get a carrier, the cutter is slightly more efficient at transferring tritium.

@@CrimsonGamer99 While trying to find a use for the cutter I found it barely goes in the direction it's pointed. I actually preferred how my type 10 flies VS that pompous and expensive shield wanker. Not much cargo difference between it and a type 9 and it costs tons less without rank. Meanwhile I got my vette pulling people out of burning stations during the 9 Martyrs attacks. Slapped two fixed beams in the biggest slots and laughed hysterically at how fast I could melt shields. Tossed the cutter in an imperial trash compactor and never looked back.

And what was the main reason they didn't want ship interiors? Something about how it would add nothing but time between you getting from the airlock to the cockpit? Wow, it's almost like the reason getting across the hangar takes so much time is because of the value it adds seeing your ship on foot. Just like being able to walk around your ship would add so much value to immersion and the ship's personality. Except that's 100x more valuable in this sense then walking around the hangar would be. If you were going to be this lazy, you might as well made it Horizon's Surface Hangars style where there is no traversing the hangar, it would just teleport you to the elevator because all that other amazing stuff is supposedly a waste of time.

Fdev make you go to an elevator and walk all that distance to board the ship, yet refusing to give us ship interiors saying it'd be boring after a while. Really 🥲
