My expedition with the distant FC was cut short due to events in the bubble and I had to get my FC to the bubble urgently. And I didn't have time in the real world...
I dismissed the 3,500,000,000 credits I bought from Colonia CG somewhere in the middle of the galaxy and had to wait. Once all the mandatory waiting period had passed, I bought a new FC.
Yes, I paid 5,000,000,000. I wanted to immortalize this moment by recording it. LoL

Im new to Elite Dangerous and trying to figure everything out lol have made my first million and use the Cobra MK3 but have only been doing deliveries and courier jobs as im still tryna figure other stuff out and make more money. I do wish on console i could disembark on foot at space stations.

My computer has an APU processor and no graphics card. APU processors are a special series produced by AMD. You can immediately notice that I'm playing with minimum settings. If you can afford it, build an APU computer, you will be able to play on a PC like me, even at low settings and low FPS. In my opinion, this is necessary since the overwhelming majority of the gaming community is on PC. You can also find a suitable group-squadron on PC and earn more credits. And also for play Odyssey, you need PC... Of course, all of this depends on your financial ability. If there is no such possibility, there are a few squadrons on the Console. But you have to seek them out. This is getting harder day by day...

I kind of miss this game. Just super cruising around in VR was worth the original purchase. I just can't actually enjoy any of the gameplay, especially the direction they've gone with the on-foot stuff. The carrier is super cool tho.

man i havent played for years, i was in beta program, played early, bought Anaconda and a few other ships, one of my best online gaming buddies passed away and i havent gone back since, perhaps i will have to reinstall one day..... ahhh yes the Blue Danube, iconic tune from the original Elite which i played way back when on the Spectrum 48k - Braben is a genius

Of course not :) In fact, I have played the game just 3-4 times in the last month. I started in 2021. At that time, there were elite dangerous-twitch streamers on Twitch, especially Emulatedpenguin, who hunted thargoids every Friday on Fridays. I learned the game while watching them and saved money by participating in this "thargoid hunt" activity every Friday. This is where the money for my first FC comes from. Then, for me, there was money between FC + 250-500M and wandering around in empty space for a long time. Then a profitable Tritium transport mission appeared in one of the Community Goals. I filled and emptied my FC twice. And after this CG I have enough money to buy FC + 12B and a bunch of ships. In short, from time to time the game offers you activities where you can earn good CREDITS. It is important to capture and evaluate these activities (CG's). I currently have 18B in total. And believe me, someone in my squadron has 85B just from the recent Titan-Thargoid hunt. And yes, that friend of mine is in the game at least 5 days a week.

a drifting garage thaat costs way to much per week just to keep you grinding creds. i found it best to decom mine to save credits since it doesnt even offer a better way to organize our ships n modules.

Although there is some truth to your opinion, the idea of having your own "personal station" where you can store everything is not a bad idea. Moreover, if you don't move the FC around all the time, you'll be fine with 10.5m maintenance costs and 3000t tritium per week. Of course, these are always a matter of preference.

If you are smart enough, you can tell that it is 720p @ 60 frames per second. Yes, it is strange, because with my computer I could easily run Elite in 1440P @ 60 fps.

my PC is a potato :))) Maybe that's why it might seem that way to you. Also, the game engine is outdated. Despite everything, it's a fun game :) I recommend it, watch other KZbinrs' videos too. And also I'm not doing any professional work anyway. I do business purely for fun, with the potato computer I have. If you had fun, no problem. If you don't like it, KZbin is a huge video site 😉

The Tritium mechanic is no fun. I abandoned mine out in Odin's hold, but it's got like 5.2 bil in the bank. I'm not f'ng about with this whole stupid tritium grind/ buy/ scalping mechanic. Not when the things can just hang out by a star or gas giant and siphon its fuel like any other ship does in ED. Rocks are the worse place to find tritium, due, to its decay rate but they realllllly had to figure out a way to work it into their grind mechanic. So I just tell everyone, "go to my lonely carrier, if you're out exploring. Services are enabled. I'm f'ng done with it...again" LOL It's been there for over a year now. The least it can do is serve "someone" some use. I don't have outfitting enabled but they can rearm/ offload cartographic data/ refuel/ hangout at the bar... I deactivated my very first carrier. Somehow Fdev have managed to make carriers no fun in this game. You can't even fly them. In Hunternet you will be able to.

I think the reason why FC mechanics are like this is the outdated engine of the game. I just would like at least more customization in FC. I could buy a bunch of arx for FC customization. For example, a room where I can display the exobiological data I have collected, even the ornaments placed on the ships we fly, etc. As for the tritium business. You are absolutely right. Boring unless you're a hardcore miner. This is what I did for a while: Load FC full of tritium in the bubble, when it's done, mine just enough tritium to jump to the next 3-5 stops and move on. At first, the danger of not finding tritium in new places I went to felt a little "exciting", but when the titans in the balloon started to explode, I immediately dismissed FC and went to the balloon. (For those interested, your ships and modules in FC are transferred to a station of your choice free of charge, but you can only do this once.) In short, traveling with FC in black worked for me in the name of Science Fiction RP, I had friends from time to time, passersby stopped by, I wrote on forums, reddit, etc. Until something more fun happens in the balloon. :)

Yeah it's a shame, there are so many things that could (should) be added, so many suggestions over the years, all ignored. Those are only worth as a mobile base, to store all the ships in one place and basically always have them all with you, whatever you decided to do. Still a missed opportunity for more gameplay to be introduced. Though we can still hope, they are reworking the powerplay, which was the least probable thing ever, so maybe at some point they'll decide to have a look into carriers aswell 🤷🏻‍♂️ (not holding my breath though)

@@davewright8206NPCs don't buy from carriers, do you mean other players buy minerals from you? I find it hard to believe tbh. True or not, it doesn't really matter a single bit anyway, the market is just one thing and the point here is that there are endless possibilities to make the carriers better and with more functionalities. The current state is just lazy.

@@ShinigamiAnger What they say is actually true, but close market monitoring and coordination is required. This takes so much time that the game almost becomes a "trading simulator". For this reason, I don't bother, but there are people who do.

Fleet carriers should be no less than 20 billion credits, should be able to jump a minimum of 2500ly, be able to carry 5,000 tons of tritium and NPCs should have the capability of mining it for you. Tritium mining makes a fleet carrier. Not worth it if you're a deep space explorer, you can go further faster with DBX. Civilian carrier should be more like a smaller version of a dock with a biodome, Small and medium landing pad. not an aircraft carrier

If what you mean is "the game repeats itself", you are partially right. I found the solution by playing chill chill and getting out of competitive mode.

Since I'm not familiar with mobile games, I can't draw any similarities. But my PC is a potato :))) Maybe that's why it might seem that way to you. Also, the game engine is outdated. Despite everything, it's a fun game :) I recommend it, watch other KZbinrs' videos too.

This is a matter of "taste". I generally believe in the rule "tastes and colors are non-negotiable". If it is not suitable for you, of course you are free to not play. As for me, I consider myself a "space madness". What seems empty to you is a place for me where I can dream and live out my astronaut fantasies. Of course, the game could be better, but I have these opportunities and I will continue playing unless something goes wrong.
