Bob, that was the first useful video I've found that didn't a) go off on a ramble, b) assume you know everything about flying, and c) assume you're already sorted with all aspects of the game and was a post for "beginning guide" that suddenly became a "hey, this is a cool thing you can do". I wanted a basic nuts and bolts tutorial for the xbox one because the standard versions aren't good enough- you provided it. Thank you! I remember playing the original Elite on the ZX Spectrum (those wireframe graphics). Went into town bought the cassette (what's a cassette I hear the young ones cry) loaded it up and played it for 7 hours straight. Loved that game. I think I'll get this one for my son.

I'm really hooked on this game, my friend at work recommended it to me. I'm just trading and hauling at the moment but once i get some more bunsen, I'll branch over to bounty hunting. The CQC is pretty fun, although it gets quite hairy at times. I need to buy Horizons now!

combat is the most fun aspect of the game. well be getting ship launched fighters update soon I believe. that allows players with bigger ships like the anaconda and corvette to have a.i. crew flying small fighters launched from their ships. they're also adding more ships and a few new station types in the new update. I believe we're supposed to get more updates before the end of the year. I think next year brings multicrew

I tired the demo version of ED on XBO and didn't give it the time required to learn the controls so I didn't enjoy it not pre-paid it. My mistake, after launch 10/6/15 I decided to buy it full price and give it another try... I'm so glad that I did!!! Within an hour I became very comfortable with the XBO controller and now I'm hooked on this game!!!! In just 2 days, I have probably played like 20 plus hours - LOL! I haven't touch MG Online or any thing else. Been waiting a really long time for a space flight simulator especially on console. I love this game and I'm really excited about Planet Landings which will hopefully make its way to XBO and just not PC.Bobnice31, can you please make a short vid on how to use the Debug camera (3rd person) view? The controls are a bit difficult to handle but I just like the 3rd view to enjoy the spaceship view and beauty of space and distant planets...Hopefully MS will make a joystick to fly our ships in this game in the future. Weird how there's nothing available in the market out there... Maybe because XBO has not had any flight SIM titles so far. Hopefully this game does well on XB. I think people who like space Sims should try this out and give the learning curve a shot. If you learn it, you will be hooked!So far, (last 2 days) just been having a blast transporting cargo from one spaceport to another. So far after about 6 completed missions I've earned 186,091 credits. I'm considering purchasing the ADDER @ 87,810 or continue to save for the TYPE-6 TRANSPORTER @ 1,045,950... if you like trading, I'd recommend the type 6 all day long. you can upgrade it to 100 tons of cargo. if you're gonna go trade career mostly, then I would recommend investing heavily in the best frame shift drive for which I believe is 1 million credits, you'll also need to buy a solid gas tank to compensate for those long jumps. also would be more convenient to buy a auto docking computer, I find it helps for trading because all the docking can get tedious. I don't know much about the adder but I know the cobra can get 40 tons of cargo which is nice for trading

ED has, as map, the Milk Way Galaxy with "only" 400 billion star systems and each one has let's say 10 planets average; that makes 4 trillion generated planets; well, NMS has 18 quintillion generared planets (this number has 6 more zeros to give you an idea)

Bobnice31 Frontier can state that, NMS is not out yet; it will be not only the largest game ever created, but all those planets will be explorable from day 1 (which is not the case with ED that will have, from this Dec, "only" the rocky/airless moons) Yeah, it would be impossible for both; in NMS case even if you happen to be immortal; to see for only 1 second every planet (that's not actually an exploration) it will take more than 5 billions years (not even counting the travelling time spent to move between them) and we don't have that much time, at least on Earth.

unfortunately I'm not that educated on exploration career as I'm mainly a bounty hunter who dabbles in a side of smuggling. However what I believe is you have to have a discovery scanner equipped on your ship and add it to a fire group, when you enter an undiscovered system which is usually very far away from the populated systems you have to fire the scanner and collect the data. you may be able to narrow down the undiscovered systems using the navigation map and see if the system has 0 population. once you scan and collect data you can then sell it at a star port, the farther out the undiscovered system was from the starport the more money you can sell the data for. I'm not sure if that's 100% accurate info maybe one of the other commanders here can help more

only way I know how is to use galaxy map, find the system where your stored ship is located, should have a red icon above it (press x to change cursor to move up or down), then move your cursor over it and an option will appear to select or plot route.

you cannot directly play with pc players. however pc and xbox players share the same universe and both directly affect it

+K Young I'm not that talented with flight assist off, I do however use flight assist off for brief moments when turning in combat to try and make my ship fishtail or drift so to speak, seems to get my nose to turn faster on targets

just found out about this game an bought it on xbox one. I wana get into this game. the bumper buttons control the forwards and reverse thrusters. if you click in the left stick you can toggle between standard and alternate flight controls. If your just starting out I would always stay in standard control mode.

This game has potential to be something great but it can get tedious and doesn't explain itself very well in some crucial areas a new player can feel lost very easily. I think the developer needs to refine some areas of the game rather than creating more content. If the average new player feels intimidated and frustrated this game will never move beyond niche.

You were talking about "No Man's Sky" I assume when you said that Elite dangerous has more planets? if that's the case then you were wrong, they have the same (ish) amount of systems in the game galaxy but No Man's Sky developers announced ages ago when they were talking about the math code they used that it carries on to generate more galaxies in a infinite cycle, its a self generating code design so although no one will ever see beyond (maybe) the 3rd or 4th galaxy it will still continue forever.

the game you were thinking of is no mans sky, and granted i do love elite. no mans sky will be bigger and better. with 18 quintillion star systems and the same if not deeper leveling system, it will be the better game for a time. until elite gets all planets completely exploreable and mineable like no mans sky.

thanks for the reply, I have learned that no man's sky will be bigger and as of right now Elite holds the title for largest game universe. I will give no man's sky a good solid try but from the videos I've seen I'm not really impressed with the ship flying and shooting gameplay, looks very stiff and arcadey I'd the best way I can explain my feelings towards it. I do really like Elites gameplay and ship to ship combat. in the end I feel like Star Citizen will reign supreme over all of them maybe not in size but everything else
