I have the Elite Drive 45/50mm combo on my bike with a 32mm GP5000 and they fit like a glove, but I would like to test the Elite Drive G45 who have 24mm inner width and 31mm outer at 1300gr, good combo, if they did the rear in 50mm deep I would buy that next time

@PatrickLino it'd be great if you could get hold of a set and compare them to what you've tested so far. I think they're pretty incredible but I only have a two other sets to put them against.

They have Road Elite Edge 50, 1317g for me. Steel bearings of course with regular aero steel spokes. Cheap and very decent. I use them for gravel as well. Massive downside, they’re narrow, wish it was 30mm external and 25~ internal for whatever increase in weight. Comfortable and not overly flexy or anything. Oh well, but can’t complain for the price.

Great review! Magene review also great. What’s your preference between the two?
@PatrickLinoАй бұрын
It comes down to aesthetics. I very much prefer the "look" of the Elite Helix versus the Magenes. The Magene Exars are a wider rim both externally and internally, which has been important for a lot of consumers. That would be the only factor for me to choose the Magene.

You PL… you may have answered this already, but how do they 1. Hold up in windy conditions (50 D/60 D Helix)? 2. Hold/get up to speed??? Btw, Skip one cause you answered that… lol

Yo yo! I haven't tested the 50/60D Helix yet, but the should accelerate better than the 68D for sure. And be better with crosswinds.

I have a few sets of Elite wheels. They are some of their lower priced models $350 -$400 range. They are tough and reliable. I have hundreds of miles on them and never had a problem. They are not super light but for every day wheels they are perfect.

I got some 60mm cheapos for my rim brake bike- great wheels, but I'm with you on the width, at least for disc brakes. 24/32 inner/outer is the new standard.

Would you ever consider reviewing ProX carbon wheels? I have their C68DB butterfly weave wheels, and they only cost me $625. Ceramic bearings, full carbon spokes, and only weighed in at like 1300g for the 45mm depth version. Really good imo, worth checking out

Is there a significant difference between internal rim widths going from 21mm to 23mm and 25mm? Is it really worth the upgrade?

@@ariffau The ability to run wider tires, and lower tire pressure. Not a deal breaker, but something worthy to note.

@ but then again, regardless internally 21mm, 23mm or 25mm, we can still run whatever tyres widths? If I am not mistaken, even 45mm tyres can be mounted on 21mm if that floats anybody’s boat 😆
