It would be an awesome podcast to have kolb and Julius in the same room talking bench training, philosophy, and how they feel about each others disciplines.

I was “against” geared powerlifting but then i remembered I’m not a powerlifter, it’s their sport not mine. Also I enjoyed this interview a lot and Jimmy seems like a very intelligent guy. He definitely opened my mind, geared lifting is it’s own craft.

I have a slightly negative outlook on equipped powerlifting. I love and do Raw powerlifting. I skeptically clicked on the first podcast Jimmy was on with date, and ended up watching the whole podcast attentively. He's definitely an opinionated man, but also very intelligent and interesting to listen to for sure. I like him.

@chrisweidner4768 it's a great triceps exercise, according to James. I train strongman more than powerlifting so I can't quite say such for myself

Jimmy’s got crazy genetics he should do raw. He’s already got the unlimited record which very few people even seem to care about or understand. There’s a lot to gain to switch to just raw. He could probably do 650-700 fairly quickly I would guess. Maybe his pecs are weak though from using the shirt idk. Either way there’s nothing left for him in that division that doesn’t really have any eyes. He’s got crazy genetics too

That's what I used in the old days were the Gold 100's. 14 inch pad, you are talking about the width of the actual bench right? You must have heard about the Marine heavy 275 or SHW lifter named Gary Ward. Tall as shit lifter. I went to a few full meets at Quantico when was a short drive from Ft. Belvior, Va. Army Fort.

QUESTION: when you just need MASSIVE CALORIES and it's difficult to get them all down, i don't understand why you don't just drink a glass of olive oil and be done with it. if you use a good quality, California olive oil, it tastes great and it's got 130 calories in 1 tablespoon.

Wtf
@yanwain945418 күн бұрын
@@SanjeevKumar-ik7xs i suggest california olive oil because when you get bottles labeled as "italian olive oil" there can often be a lot of fraud and the oil isn't really from italy, it's just rebottled there. when you see the labe "100% california olive oil" at least you know it's really from california.

You’re crazy bro! Have you ever held 500lb? How about 1300lb? The amount of physical adaptation required to withstand that pressure is fascinating. Even if he couldn’t bench much over 600lb raw. You’re missing the point. 600lb raw is massive! The world record is less than 200lb away. So you can say this is a world class bencher no matter what and an absolute master of withstanding total pressure in the band division.

Yeh that’s the raw record. Kolb is lifting in a ‘band’ shirt I believe, it’s even more extreme than the multiply from 20 years ago. It’s a weird niche thing, but I don’t hate it like I hated multiply. There are only a few people doing it and not many people follow it. Let them have their fun.
