For the naming, I won't be surprised if we see the different ranks in future expansions adopt the different names. So we will get "Sangheili Officer" or "Sangheili Zealot" with the models wearing the armor that rank wears in Infinite. It doesn't necessarily fix the team association issue, unless in the future they let you match teams based on their faction logo instead of just going by the name. For casual play I'm sure most people would accept gentlemen agreements that ignore factions too.

I think the naming is because of rank, there are Sangheili Mercenaries, Enforcers, Ultras, Spec Ops and Warlords (At least on Halo Infinite).

Hey, great vid. For the naming of the elites (and the spartans) these do not specify the faction. "Spartan" is not a faction. "UNSC" is the faction. The Sangheili Mercs have the Banished insignia on their card which specifies the faction. I would expect that they are compatible with the Banished faction. I think the reason the spartans have different names is because their base stats vary (not determined by weapon). The elites all have the same base stats, thus are effectively variants of the same unit type.

Kinda bummed about the needler. Its one of my favorite weapons so I was kinda hopping for a special rule that lets it go BOOM if your dice roll was good enough.

I was thinking of a new keyword called 'super combine' 'Each time a model is targeted with a weapon with this keyword, each attack gains Lethal (n), N being the number of times it has been targted with a super combined attack previous to the current one this round. This is culmative. I.e. A spartan is targeted with a needler. This first attack gains no benefit, as their have been no previous attacks this round. It is then targeted again. This second attack gains Lethal (1). A third spartan targets the same model with a needler. This third attack gains Lethal (2)

@KhevaKins Or Super combine can just split your exploding 8's into two dice rolled. Then if one of those hits an 8 roll two more. Kind of like them combining to make a big hit or explosion. That way it's only one interaction and is easier to keep track of.

I’m sorry but can you explain the special order if I’m wrong, Im not sure I understand. If one is dead and before the turn is over you use the special order, it brings them back on the board in the same turn and they can activate again?

No Need to be sorry. A model may respawn next time it is able to activate. A model that dies keeps is activation token (if it had one) A game round does not end until all models (dead or alive) have activated. When the round ends/starts, all activation tokens are removed from all models (dead or alive). The Sangheili Mercenaries special order allows you to remove the activation token early from a dead model. In doing so, it is able (and in fact must) respawn onto the board in that same round (instead of having to wait until next round, like normal) So in effect, it can activate twice in the same round (if not more times if it just keeps dying)

In-game the Plasma Rifle is like a run and gun type of weapon. From a flavour point of view it doesn't make any sense to have 'long'

Yes, armor is never lost, but can be penetrated on an attack by attack basis with Armor piercing.
