Unmatchable tone for me. This band had the best sound, still sounds solid almost a decade later. Please do another album.

Damn, Julian you were so ahead of your time. Everything Elitist did, even with Chris and more of the Forever Orion inspired songs you guys made. Such a shame Elitist just never completely took off. The change in sound from 2013 and beyond pissed off obnoxious “djent” purists. You guys made the best riffs, catchiest hooks, and most memorable vocal choruses in the genre. If this dropped years later than it did, everyone would’ve praised it. Oh well, at least I’m still enjoying Elitist in 2020. Great lifting music tbh and I’m glad to rediscover them years later. Still remember every song when I hear it play. Legends never die.

@@crzxm he reminds me a lot of aj minette, both dudes play virtuosic technically mind boggling styles but are so effortlessly locked in with the way they move across the neck. elitist and human abstract are two of my favorite bands for that reason, the drums are so in sync with the insanity going on with the guitars. the earth ep is the most unique djent release ive ever found

They tune the top string to a B, just like the top string on a 7-string. So they basically added the string, without actually adding it lol.

Aaron Jones so is it drop b or b a d g b e?
@Ghost171107 жыл бұрын
This is Drop B, all Elitist discography is IIRC except for a few tracks where Julian *might* have tracked it with a 7 string tuned to Drop B with a high F#
@fromdepthswerise30247 жыл бұрын
Mason Stanley to clarify your point, two of the songs on Reshape Reason were in 7-string Drop B. On the Between the Balance EP, "Echo in the Room" was in drop B flat. On their final self titled album, 4 of the songs were in drop A flat on a six string.

Without trying to offend anyone, but Djent music sounds better without voice or the screams, the instrumental development is an incredibly achievement to admire that sometimes is overshadowed by the screams. Of course, is just a personal opinion.

I couldnt agree with you more. I have lots of friends turn down Elitist, Erra, Novelist, the faceless etc. Because they say there is too much going on. But once i show them a guitar play through. They are immediately head over heels for this bands. Because in a way. Even though i can actually get into this bands. Listening to them without vocals is alot more pleasing. And shit ton more beautiful. You actually get to understand what is going on. And capture every melodic and technical aspect of this insane works of art
@danielayuch549810 жыл бұрын

Yep. Tends to be why I stick to bands like Corelia, Modern Day Babylon, Walking Across Jupiter etc. Screaming over top of non standard time signatures just sounds strange to me (Meshuggah being the exception).
