even Smoke On The Water sounds kinda lame by most guitarists. It's pretty hard actually to get the feeling and vibe that Blackmore sticks into a simple riff like that :D even Steve Morse these days doesn't come quiet close to it....after playing so many years with Deep Purple :D

If you wanna talk about stealing talent, your on the wrong side of the music industry, bub. How is this dude is 'fucking lame' for playing a guitar proven by petrucci, richardson, garcia, and more (everyone else better than you'll ever be) to kick ass? He's probably owned no less than 20 shitty guitars to get where he's at with his talent. Go do something relevant and bark up the tree of every top 20 artist bumping a strat or gibson studio les paul lol.

+Perry D I've been researching the answer to this question myself. There is a handful of artist who write like this, I.E The Afterimage, The Helix Nebula, and The Parallel. The easiest way to put it is like this...just write to "impress" I love this style of music it pushes the boundaries of metal. But, write to impress, man. That's the way I see it.

I can def see why this may not appeal to many people that are outside of the guitar community, and even maybe just within a certain niche in that guitar community. I personally love this song, though I wouldn't listen to it all the time. I appreciate the phrasing and dynamics. He has some really interesting ideas in the song. It's not very emotional. And that's why it will never appeal to a larger audience. But you know, when there are something like 50 million guitar players in the world...you'll still get you're few seconds of fame. Props to this guys either way, he is great at our craft.
