1:28:00: Memphis authorities announce new details in Eliza Fletcher press conference
Memphis Police on Tuesday morning identified a body found in South Memphis on Monday as missing 34-year-old mother and teacher Eliza Fletcher.

The body was found during a search in South Memphis near where police say Abston was seen cleaning out his vehicle.

I really don't understand the problem. He was sentence to 24 years I believe. That's not a slap on the wrist. And most states you have a % of time you have to do. Tennessee you do 85 percent of your time(I believe). 85 percent if you get let out on good behavior. That's not the decision of a judge, that's the Law. He got out early because he had good behavior and did the maximum amount of time he could have done in his sentence. That's no one's fault. Rather we think he should have got out is another story. But we can't just change laws in any case at any time just because we don't like what the person did. If we take his good behavior time away from him, we have to do it for all inmates, even the ones who deserve to get out early for good behavior. The law is the law. You don't like them, change them. Bottom line people need to stop acting like someone let him out early because that's misleading. If you have good behavior you can get out after doing 85 percent of your time. End of story.

Bail requirements are currently being essentially dropped in Chicago as we speak. Everyone will have to become more mindful of their surroundings for safety but we can't protect ourselves from every danger. Each of us have risks we are willing to take. What could've happened was that when they nabbed her and bc she wasn't carrying her debit card, she had no way of withdrawing money without raising awareness. The judge in the previous crime had his wallet. I think this man felt there was no escaping the situation since she can identify him so he felt the need to then kill her. His other option was ransom, either way, he's not bright and was going to fail anyway.

Yep and its ironic that the lawyer he had kidnapped 20 years ago worked for her grandfathers corporation. He did not know her or who she was but that info is really weird that his two major crimes that is known and both victims were a part of her family's business.

What difference does it make whether it was a planned crime or a crime of opportunity? Will having the answer to this lead to less crime? Will the answer make us more safe? No. Knowing the answer to this is only significant to the prosecution, nothing more.

It’s just not safe to be doing what she was doing.Especially in Memphis. I’ve taught my daughter since a little girl. It’s not right and it sucks but it’s the world we live in

She was doing what she loved! I guarantee we all do somethings that are not safe. It might just be the foods we eat. My parents wanted my grandfather to stop riding his horse when I was young. He seemed fine to ride his horse to me. I asked them if they wanted him to sit in a rocking chair until he died. She died living. She wasn't doing hard drugs and running stop signs.

@@karrielangston4005 yeah but you gotta be smart and responsible too. Sure you can say she died doing what she loved but tell that to her kids and husband. There are smarter ways of doing the things that you love.

@Teressa Stuckey (Teressa Casteel) I wasn’t blaming her. It’s horrible what happened to her. Im simply saying there are safer ways of doing things that you love and If that would have been my daughter it would be my fault for not teaching her how to be as safe as possible. Obviously it’s never 100% but I think you get what I’m saying.

We, the people better take control of our cities. It's apparent the leaders will not. Catch and release must go. Prosecutors that will not prosecute, must go. Judges that will not follow the law, must go. A civil society is up to us, no one else.

In response to one question asked: Memphis is a city that never sleeps. There are people moving around that town 24/7. The actual executions were halted in TN temporarily due to the drugs used in injections. They still have the Death Penalty. I think they even use other options for carrying out the death penalty, including the firing squad, which was selected not long ago by an inmate? TN is a state you dont really want to be killing people in, you could end up with several murder sentences for one crime?
