Yes it choked me up... I lost an infant to SIDS and I've never gotten over it, I wanted to die early on- lost everything including my sanity and hope and my older daughter (to her grandparents) & became homeless and a drug addict... God willing, I'm in a good place now (8 years later I have 2 yrs clean) and a loving fiance and a huge home, regaining my relationship with my living daughter, etc. My point is, if God taking my angel home with him threw me into despair and depression and hopelessness, idk WHAT I would have done if a person had stolen my baby's life and hurt her in the way these boys were hurt. Even all these years later, my prayers go out to that family, especially that momma... you NEVER get over something like that, you just...learn to carry on mindlessly like a robot performing programmed tasks :/

You didn't even mention the mysterious man that came into Bojangles that night covered in blood with his pants wet and muddy up to his knees. Similar to how the police investigators' pants looked after they were in the drainage ditch searching for the boys. He came in and went straight into the ladies restroom. The manager of that Bojangles called the police but by the time an officer showed up, the man was gone. The officer didn't even come inside. She came to the drive thru window and the manager told her that the man had left blood smeared all over the wall in the restroom. He asked the officer if she was going to come inside to check it out and she said no. They did come back later and take samples of the blood that the man had smeared on the wall. Later, during Jason and Damien's trial, one of the defense lawyers asked an officer who was on the stand, if they had sent those blood samples off to be tested. The officer said no and when asked why they hadn't been tested, the officer said he lost the samples. Yeah, he "lost" them. That was a pretty significant piece of evidence, but they lost it? Yeah, bullshit!

Mr Bojangles had a cast on his arm . Each boy was hog tied with their own shoe laces , each had different style knots used to tie them up. How can a one armed man subdue 3 boys and tie each one with their own shoe laces using different knots? I do admit back when I was all crazy into this case even before the movies came out in the beginning was like WTH?? Why aren’t we looking for Mr Bojangles.. then I learned of the other evidence. Fibers from a robe in Jason Baldwins home and Damien Echols shirt worn that night were on the bodies. Blue candle wax that was consistent from a blue candle in Damien Echols bedroom was on Chris Byers shirt.

4 years late to the party, nobody will ever see this...BUT I think it's important to note that Echols hasn't stopped seeking justice for the REAL killers since he got out of prison. His lawyers have been tirelessly pushing to retest DNA evidence found at the crime scene with newer methods than were available in the 1990's. IF he were guilty, would he really do this? Would he not just slink off and enjoy his freedom? He certainly wouldn't take any chances of further confirming his guilt! I think these three can safely be taken off the list of those who could have done it.

Echols wasn't the one pushing for DNA testing, it was Bob ruff and his followers. Why only test one set of ligatures? There are semen stains that could be tested. A known DNA source. His attorneys would have requested that to be tested if they really wanted the truth.

But something about my parents never knowing possibly really upset .I was lucky but not unchanged by experience. Some real justice for parents that suffers this kind of loss I will always pray for.

I have done alot of reading on this case ! Terry's wife said when she comes home . Terry had washed his clothes and cleaned a room in the house with bleach . This was outta the ordinary for him. She would get beat for not cleaning up and doing laundry. So everything had done been clean . The only clothes that he washed was what he had been wearing that day. There's so many other facts that aren't talked about . The small details were dismissed . There's so many experts and regular people who lied on the stand . There's so many stories about what happened the only that knows is the one who did it. The police work was non-existing and sloppy . The DA said as far as his concerned they have 3 confessions with the Alfred pleas . That's just crazy!

But it is also about 3 young men who was wrongfully convicted and had their lives taken away from them they spent years in jail for a crime they didn't commit and those are years they will never get back. I think it's sad that they never looked for anyone else that could have done this.

I agree. There was no justice served whatsoever. I follow Damien Echols on KZbin and IG and a couple of days ago he posted on IG about how he asked for the blood evidence to be DNA tested on the case (to hopefully find the real killer) and the prosecution said it was lost. These three 8 year old's might never get justice and it's disgusting.

He has the most evidence against him his dna was at the scene he had motive to do it and the boys would’ve trusted him ! The WM3 didn’t even know the boys like ! The cops and everyone else saw them as 3 boys who were apart of satanism and back then those types of people scared others ! And so they made it seem like it was them the cops have been proven and known to convince people to admit to doing a crime ! The WM3 are 100% innocent! But where are their alibis? What about the people who they contacted to be their alibis, who denied being with them at the time of the murders? Why did they confess? Why did their story change and explanations not add up? Why 3 different knots? What about the bottle of whiskey that Misskelley confessed to drinking and disposing of, which was found confirming his confession? I’m new to this case and there is a lot of information and different aspects to look at it from. But from an outsiders perspective, a lot seems to point to the wm3 as the murderers. Narcissists and pathological liars tend to be very charming, it doesn’t surprise me that one could fool a following of people to believe their innocence.

Going on the idea that Hobbs killed all three boys. Maybe he had two of the boys tie eachother up and he tied up the third one. They were scouts and would have known how to tie knots. This would explain why there were three different types of knots tied. This would also explain why Hobbs' hair was only found in the knots of one victim and not all three.

Anna Lazrak you could tie someone up without getting your hair in the knot. it just so happened that his hair had fallen off and gotten tied up in the knot, or his hair had gotten caught in the knot somehow. as far as tying them up goes, he could have easily tied them up after he killed them. just a theory!

This is a really great case to stress the importance of not talking to the police without an attorney with you. You are well within your rights to say nothing except "I would like an attorney" until you get one. That being said, I think... I think Hobbs did it. Or at least had something to do with it. The fbi puts out a report yearly. I’m going to be fair here and report the percentage of cases “charged” (you can imagine how many never get convicted off the charges) but only 60% of murders even see someone charged. That’s a percentage for the entire us. Police are a joke. They don’t protect or serve.

Read his book life after death. So good. He talks about his experience and it’s heart breaking. He was beaten and raped so many times by prison guards it’s sickening. I get a sick feeling in my stomach. THIS CAN LITERALLY HAPPEN TO ANYBODY. so many people are convicted of murder because they are at the wrong place at the wrong time. I read about a case a guy was drinking and driving and went off the road. Called somebody to pick him up and left his trunk. About 100 feet away from his truck was a dead body of a stranger and they convicted him of it without a stitch of evidence just on the mere fact that his truck went off the road near the body. He has since been found innocent but shows how easy you can go fro Living your life to spending the rest of it in prison for something you didn’t do.

After all the researching I am gravitating towards it being Terry Hobbs too. It's mindblowing that he never got looked into or interviewed. I mean he has a past of being violent and attempting to sexually assault a woman. And the way the boys were found the crime has a sexually brutal element to it (the fact they were stripped and tied up). Although we don't know it's him for sure, he's a vile man at least.

What makes me sad is the people that say that the WM3 were singled out because the dressed differently and acted a certain way are doing the exact same thing thing to Byers and Hobbs. Hobbs is a disgusting human being without a doubt but that doesn't mean he killed those boys. I am not saying Hobbs didn't do it but it just blows my mind that they base it off a hair that MIGHT be his but it could also belong to anyone from 1.5 percent of the population and even if it was his it could have secondary transfer. The defence even said it isn't enough to say he did it and wasn't the smoking gun they were hoping for. Also, he was seen by Michael Moore's mother and sister at 6.30pm on his driveway when she came by asking if her son was over there because she wanted him to come home for dinner. So Hobbs knew at this point that at least one person was out looking for them and decides to go and find and kill the boys despite knowing people were looking. I'm not saying that he did or didn't do it but saying that he looks guilty is what people have been so outraged over in the first place with the WM3.

For sure! It was a little bit upsetting that the bodies were shown in the first 2 minutes of the Paradise Lost documentary. If you want to brave it, go ahead - i’m really sensitive to this kind of thing too but the bodies didn’t bother me too much, as in most of the shots they were either extremely zoomed out or facing away from the camera with no visible marks (just very pale). The shot that did show a face (Stevie Branch) was pretty horrible as he was obviously pained, but it is quite blurry. It’s definitely worth braving through if you’re of the opinion that the three men are innocent (they do show a close up of Moore’s face from the autopsy near the end, sorry I can’t remember when - it’s one of the photos the police showed Misskelley to try and scare him into a confession), it’s a brilliant documentary that changed the judicial system forever :)

smiis Thank you so much for being very informative and for the heads up! 😊 I am extremely interested in this case...coming from the UK I had never heard of it before so I am really wanting to research more and watch 'Paradise Lost' I am very squeamish about bodies (I learn't my lesson looking at The Black Dahlia case. That is very interesting, but the pictures are very graphic). But I suppose that is something we have to somehow deal with when we have an interest in crime cases and investigations. Still I think its lovely of Kendall to be very sympathetic about things like that, and thank you for giving me an idea on what to expect. It makes me feel a little less anxious...so I really do appreciate it ☺

No worries, tell me how it goes! :) I only heard about this case pretty recently, but I swear in the past month I've watched and read everything made about this case, I'm just infatuated with it for some reason. Coincidentally I only saw the Black Dahlia face photo for the first time a few days, that was pretty horrifying. One of the boy's faces in this case is messed up really badly, and it's not shown in any documentaries because of that :) Probably the best documentary I've watched on the case is called West of Memphis. It shows graphic photos more often than the Paradise Lost trilogy, but it's absolutely brilliant and stays more unbiased than other films. Also gives a lot of evidence proving Terry Hobbs is guilty. It's on Netflix, it's HD, and it's the most high quality film out of all of them as it was released in 2012. i'd definitely give it a go!

I don't know if you are around or not but I just wanted to let you know that I got around to watching the first part of Paradise Lost today. The bodies were horrifying and sad to look at, definitely something which will stay with me all of my life, but I think it's better to be aware of the boy's story instead of treating them as if nothing happened. My head is super blagged from all the information and greyness of the case but I'm about 99 percent sure Terry Hobbs did it, and I really don't think the boys did it. I just think they were unique individuals in a very narrowminded small community, all with troubling backgrounds and this just allowed people to paint a bias picture of them doing it without any real evidence. But I plan to watch West of Memphis next and read books on the case too. It's very interesting, but god my heart hurts for those poor children :/ I hope you are well!

Is it possible that Hobbs was caught by his stepson, perhaps touching his sister, and Hobbs just wanted it to look like a ritual by killing them all in this horrific way?! He did tell his mom to leave him because he said Hobbs loved his sister more than him. That could've been him trying to tell his mom maybe something he saw. I mean, why else would a kid come to the conclusion that someone loved his sister more than him, unless he saw something that made him come to that conclusion?

You left out the FACT that there was a man, who showed up nearby that night at a restaraunt & asked to use the restroom, who was "very distressed" according to witnesses, had blood all over him & mud far enough up his pants that it was obvious he'd been in the creek. You can't leave that out. No one knows who he was, but it IS suspicious and the waitress from the restaraunt called police but the man had left already & was never seen again. I personally think he may have witnessed it, come across it accidentally, or been dragged into it somehow as an accomplice or false lead, & not necessarily actually did it, but he may have known who did. Then, there's the knife: .Stevie, one of the victims, always carried his special buck knife with him everywhere he went. It was not with him at the crime scene along with his clothes & bike. His mom found it months later, stashed with his stepdad's belongings. The stepdad who had DNA evidence at the crime scene. Yea that guy.

Hi! New to your channel and already obsessed! Thanks for all the work you put in. I had a small role in Devil’s Knot, another film about the West Memphis 3. My mom was sitting in the viewing village with Damien and his partner while I filmed. She said Damien was very nice but mostly quiet while his partner chatted with my mom. I remember thinking that it must have been hard for him to watch us re-enacting the events that led to his incarceration.

@schwoogie78 nope! They weren't. Buford. T. Justice had him some real guilty ones, some real bad seeds, I am sure he knew what he was doing coaching er questioning the mentally challenged one. I don't see that sheriff as the kind of guy that would promise someone that if they told the "truth" they could go home. I am certain that he was a good man a real stickler for the law. I don't understand how you plan to put someone to death and take away the lives of 2 more people over some "deception" on a polygraph and the word of someone who is probably not able to enter into contractual deals. I don't know if they are guilty or not but if the went down to where the bodies were found and left no sort of D.N.A. or bootprints or something and the only thing that is found is hair from someone who has not been given a polygraph. I find that pretty much a one in a million shot. The cops were shit the prosecutors were shit and they just didn't look like they had any business doing anything more than monitor main street for J walking. What a wonderful kind of screw up this was. That cop should have stepped back took a huge breath then called him some real cops. Barney Fife didn't think that maybe they had better look at the guy who was jealous of a little boy for getting more attention than him? And that's just the tip of Terry Hobbs issues. If they are guilty and they are free wow, then again if they're innocent and lost 30 years and got nothing? I am not sure if I would be able to make a life after all this. I wasn't 20 when I was falsely imprisoned and now I am free but at what cost? I'm approaching 50 and I have zero marketable skills. I am not saying that I would kill a kid, I am saying I am going to need some serious answers and the apologies I get better be some reinventing type joints. Make me BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE SORRY CAUSE HELL I JUST DID A 30 PIECE AND I GOT NOTHING TO LOSE HERE PAL.

I remember learning about this case in college (I have my Bachelor’s in CJ) and we studied the police investigative misconduct in this case, coercion during interrogation of minors, misconduct in interrogation of those with disabilities, and the impact emotion can have jury and police in the prosecution of a case. It’s super interesting to go back and look at this case. An absolutely horrendous case, but I think a major miscarriage of justice with these three men who were convicted. I have a lot of respect for our justice system, but it’s really scary to see how a jury can rule not based purely on the evidence (like they’re charged to do) but on emotion. Great video!

After looking in to this I really truly believe that it was the stepfather. Only he could have been able to lure them out to that part of the woods. Their bodies were found at the scene of the crime there is no sign of struggle which heavily indicates that it was someone that they knew. I believe that he led them there instructed them to remove their clothes, tied them and then killed them. This is all just my theory but I truly believe that given their ages they were most likely just frightened and following the orders of an adult. This does not seem like the acts of a stranger.

I think so too! The step dad of Chris (a victim) had a knife found covered in blood (that matched both him but also his step sons blood type). He admitted to beating his step son. The only one of the 3 boy who was mutilated (with a knife) was his son. His son and his 2 friends probably trusted him (cause they knew him). His first wife called the police on for him for stunning her with a taser and beating her and her children- and she warned the authorities that she thought he was responsible for the boys' murders. His own parents called the police on him cause he threatened them with a butcher knife. His second wife (mom of the victim who stupidly thought he was innocent) died under mysterious circumstances (and the cause of death was "undetermined") and he didn't call 911.She had bruises on her arms and contusions on her head- one of the ways one of the boys was killed was from blunt force trauma to the head. But the boy who like liked emo music, horror books/film, had a goth look, and was wican was said to be the more likely suspect (despite no forensic evidence). Cause stupid-ass bible- belt thought the punk boys who liked emo music must have been part of a 'homosexual satanic cult' - no seriously that was what they thought .

But I was curious why in the other suspects you didn’t mention the pizza delivery guys? These were 2 young pizza delivery boys who frequented the boys neighborhood. The day after the boys went missing, the left and went to California for seemingly no reason. They were named as persons of interest and picked up by police in California. They confessed to the murders, and then when the 3 boys were arrested, they just let them go without even investigating them. I don’t know who did it, but another suspect to add to the list

How the hell hasn’t Terry Hobbs been arrested and looked into since they found the hair, he was the last one seen with the boys and with his violent past and record? The stuff Kendall mentioned is what is known or was reported who’s to say there isn’t a lot more that wasn’t reported or that he did that couldn’t be proved? I know they think there may have been several killers due to different knots being used but one person can easily do that. Also when it’s said that if there had only been one killer that the boys may have ran while one of the others was being tied up but if it was Hobbs for example the boys were only 8 and he could have made it out to be a game and gotten them all tied up then started attacking them xxxx
