gibran trejo I’m (I guess) proud to say that wasn’t a digital effect- 100% real fake blood squirting into my eyes, and I had to act as naturally lifeless and unaffected as possible. It hurt like hell. 🤣

Okay but I just read about how the lady's maids of Anne Boleyn (another beheaded queen) carried her decapitated body because they were afraid to have any man touch her, in fear of what they'd do to her. ...really puts the "don't you worry honey 'cause I can't say no" line being sung by a decapitated head in a new and horrifying light

It's so interesting to see the song interpreted this way. I have synesthesia, meaning I associate colors with letters, numbers, and music. For me, this song was always a deep violet, beige, and brown, and had a simple 'pattern' in my head. It was weird to watch a video full of vibrant reds along with a song I've always heard as violet, but it was really cool to see the song from a different perspective! Both the song and video are beautiful works of art!

Denise Radley It's really cool, I've only recently realized I have synesthesia, and for a long time I thought that everyone had a sort of 'music visualizer' in their head. For me, every song has its own colors, lines/patterns, and placement in my head. for example, this song's sounds are mostly purple and beige, with smooth lines that move to the tune. For some reason this song is always concentrated on the upper left side of my mind? I know that probably doesn't make sense. It's pretty hard to explain, but I hope that gives you a little insight to how I see music ^^

im listening to night vale for the first time, a decade late to the party, and im keeping a journal of my reactions and occasionally note my favorite weathers. Im also playing catch up listening to good morning night vale on the eps, and just got to the one where they interview eliza rickman and i decided to revisit this song and it turns out, i specifically noted when i listened to the original ep that i liked the weather :) gonna be making a playlist of all the ones i noted, starting with this also the headless effects are so trippy i have no idea how that works amazing job on this music video

alexaloga Well, the new interpretation is simple, it's based on the video: It's about the body losing its head, in a very literal way. My old interpretation might be more interesting? I was always thinking of a child that lost its mother, either in a literal way (the mother died) or a metaphorical one (the mother doesn't care), the pretty little head is the child, of course. For me, it fitted. Imagine a little child, lying in its bed, but no one comes to wish it a good night and tug it in its blanket? It is motherless either way, and I like this interpretation still more than the one given, funnily I never saw it in this literal way of the body losing its head. That was my old interpretation, I hope you like it! 🌸
