Don't know why but when Chris said the bells are made of 'Bell Metal' - I was reduced to tears of laughter (I kept winding it back and it still made me laugh). I haven’t laughed like that for a very long time - thank you!

It's so funny that Siddy mentioned Jack the ripper because everytime I think of Whitechapel I can't help but not have an image of Jack the ripper pop into my head because as we know Whitechapel station originally opened 1876 by The East London railway and would have been open about 12 years When first murder happened in April 1888 I wonder what Whitechapel would have looked like at the time it was also very interesting to find out about Chris's bell ringing talent's a man of many talents and do love the dimples in and around station each crossrail station has something very unique that really inspires thank you again for another wonderful episode as always really appreciate all the work that goes into filming them and all the research thank you so much ☺️

Not been able to see the new station due to moving out of near the area, but did visit the tube platforms with the hordings taken down, which was just as confusing to find the Overground, this video will have enlightened me with a window into the future.
@jacksugden81902 жыл бұрын
Impressive video team, was hoping that the team could have walked through the old entrance into where you were later, I loved the original ticket hall on Whitechapel High Street, noticed that there was no disabled left with those escalators down to the platforms, observable was that the apex of the roof at top of the escalators reminded me of a cathedral, surprised the team didn’t mention it, would liked to have seen the connection from the purple trains down to the Overground below ⬇️.

The Lizzie Line? Wonder whether that's what everybody will be calling it. I myself have been looking for a combined name of this new London Transport mode: It startet out as _Crossrail,_ went into interim service as _TfL Rail,_ was announced to be called _Elizabeth line_ when operational (also sparking confusion on it being perceived as a Underground line, although it is a mode in/of itself). For quite a while I've been naming it *TfL Cross Elizabeth Rail line,* all the while Geoff Marshall went with his *Cross Eliz Purp* name. But I finally came to my own conclusion a while back: it is *Cross TfL ElizzaRail* ! Or maybe just _ElizzaRail_ for short. -- And that somehow brings us back to the Lizzie Line, as Laura called it.

I have walked through the new station entrance a number of times now & am very impressed by the space and beautiful lines of the space, especially as the old entrance was so cramped & dirty. On another matter, I hear that the building above the Angel station is to be knocked down. Will the station need to close for a period of time?
@alexgrundon23462 жыл бұрын
Is it really? Good question.
@daveharris72242 жыл бұрын
Hello Alex, a large block of apartments is being planned for that site. Anyway, I loved this show. Like you, I used the old station literally hundreds of times. It was horrible! Very dirty & cramped. How beautiful the new station looks!
