Eljay's Recap Review: The Rahkshi

"Let's go to the Muaka petting zoo!" For those who don't know, Muaka were known to *eat Rahkshi*. Also, there are 42 different Kraata variations, each with a different power. Yet each individual Kraata can be one of 6 different levels, ranging from the weak and instinct-driven level 1 Kraata to the powerful and fully aware level 6 Kraata. Then there were also the "level 7" or "Shadow" Kraata, which had their own power in addition to the newly acquired Shadow Power to infect Kanohi from a distance. Shadow Kraata take the appearance of purple Kraata of any level. This would mean there's a total of 294 different Kraata variations.

The Rahkshi were the only group I ever got every set out of, in all ten years of Bionicle. I guess I just really liked their designs. With their staves, spines, and creepy faces, they all seemed pretty fierce and vicious, as befitted the "sons of Makuta". Plus, they had something unprecedented in the Bionicle universe: knees, glorious knees!

They were so advanced even compared to the Toa that came AFTER them. If they had one more arm joint they’d have the same level of possibility as a Inika-onward build. They’re a definite step above the Toa Metru’s weird axel arms despite their lack of elbows IMO.

Thank you so much for all of your videos. I was ADDICTED to Bionicles when I was younger (To the point they were banned in my household when I was 9-10 or so.) and it is what kickstarted my imagination. Now that I am an author, I can safely say that GregF (And C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien) were some of my original inspiration. I had COMPLETELY forgot that Bionicle existed in the last two years. And hey, I CRIED for about thirty minutes (Not sorrow, but kinda bitter sweet) when it ended, and was a member of all the major forums. And now, until about four days ago, I had forgot it existed. Thanks for this series, now that I have seen it, I am remembering my routes.

I have some great news for you! Bionicle is returning in 2015! It's going to be a very slight, or as Lego put it, a "soft" reboot, but still, it's returning with the Toa Nuva as the main heroes! :D

pugmasterben It's not even an actual reboot. In fact, it's said it still has a connection to the old storyline. Remember the Mask of Time? Y'know, the mask that basically looks like the lower half of one? It's said that it actually *is* only half a mask, with the other half being located in the rebooted universe.

The fearsome Rahkshi, Makuta's fiercest servants.....or at least his servants so fierce we had to do a couple years of prequels before he could scrape up enough suitable goons to challenge the full Toa again-and then we got the Piraka. This explains much about why we got the Piraka. Fear their mighty powers, beyond anything the Toa had faced BEFORE! ...And on top of having quite possibly the first Bionicle knees (barring...maybe a Rahi at some point?) there was also something about powers over fear and poison and such.

Another con I wish you mentioned was the odd dull shine to rahkshi specific pieces, which makes the red one look an ugly pink.

I think the yellow Rahkshi was the only set from 2010 I loved, but I only had 4 of the original Rahkshi from 2003 so I couldn't have a complete family reunion photo. XD

I believe the kratta are supposed to ejected as part of the game, if the toa hit them, the kratta goes flying and the Rahkshi is defeated. I am most likely wrong here though.

I think the Rakshi were only the armor and the kraata were the whole living thing. (Movie wise at least...)

Yes. Once a Kraata evolves into their final stage, they become the Rahkshi, then another Kraata comes in order to control it. Much like the 2001 Kanohi game, you could use a Toa to hit the Rahkshi's head in order to eject the Kraata.

Jakob Salach Yeah! The yellow Rahkshi of Heat Vision was *so much better*, they didn't need to give him Kraata, or bending knees/elbows! Even Makuta Teridax himself thought he was so amazing, he just released a whole army of them on Bara Magna instead of sending several different kinds!

I actually liked the Heat Vision Rahkshi, I kinda figured that they were smaller because they're the beef of Makuta's Rahkshi army as they would be good for close range and far range attacks, so they were made hastily and the size was a drawback from being created so fast

I actually just got Lehrahk for Christmas, today as of this comment (Christmas Day, 2020) One thing you can do, that's pretty fun (imo): you can actually take a Rahkshi of your choice, and take a Vakhi of your choice, in it's sort of weird, crawler configuration, put the Rahkshi on the Vakhi, and then you can have the Rahkshi riding the Vakhi into battle.

Ah, the most badass villains in my childhood. These are the only clone sets that were actually worth buying all of. I was going to say that you were way off with the Kraata numbers, but you managed to correct yourself later. There were 43 colors (including purple) in 6 stages, and there was a level 1 trans-orange Kraata. These were some of the best BIONICLE sets, and one of my first ones was Guurahk.

Not sure if this really counts as a feature, but you can remove the axle extender that acts as the handle for their gear function and use it to attach their staff pieces so they can hold a staff one-handed for greater reach and allow for more poses.

I think that the cookie cutter style where they all are slightly different with pieces or colors is not a con, but a pro with a sense of collectibility and that the more you get you can have a cooler display and battle.

Oh gosh, these guys. I loved the Rahkshi back in the day. It was so fun to bash the Toa Nuva's heads in with their gear function. Great sets in the 2003 line, and WAY better villains than the Reskin * AHEM * I mean Bohrok-Kal.

As much as I like the skull villains of 2015,I hope the next wave is the Shadow(or Anti)Toa. With their own switched personalities. And the powers are stronger or weaker depending on the toa their fighting. I.E. ilag(gali backwards) defeats gali super-easily. uhat(tahu) destroys Tahu easier or Gali defeats uhat easily and such.Just a cool Idea.

Blue Onyro Bohrok had a mask-like accessory that could be put on the classic Mata-style heads (yet don't really fit on the McToran heads).Rahkshi had the Kraata slugs, which are cool collectibles, they have great posability, along with new pieces, and they just look the most amazing.Vahki... Just save up enough money to buy Nidhiki, as the head's pretty much the same and that's the only "original" feature the Vahki had. My advice, buy a Rahkshi.
