Re: the coil stats. Despite what's listed, instead of adding 0.15 (+15%) to the crit damage multiplier, it actually adds twenty-five percent to the general damage modifier pool but only when critting. So it won't raise Iriv's crit multiplier above 2.75 as other crit damage coils would, but when you do crit you're getting all of those 25% bonuses added to the base damage which then gets multiplied by 2.75. Pretty weird.

I love how the biggest criticism I got from people in HFW is the bosses are bullet sponges even on normal yet people on youtube are 1 hitting everything on ultra hard. I never got that good a loadout but I could do enough damage that even the apex slaughterspine didn't take forever on ultra-hard.

Frost in general. But Acid gives a big damage boost if you hit the Gold Plates on a Specter or Specter Prime.

This is one of the things that I do not understand about this game. All games have perks with increasing difficulty such as extra loot, better drops, etc.. Horizon actually has better drops in 'Story' mode, with no decrease in experience, shard drop or anything. So here is what I do not get: All these videos are about making the Ultra Hard difficulty playable like it is on a lower level with better coils., etc.. If one wants to one-shot bosses, why not just play in story mode with better drops? I think that the game should have 1) Higher level cap than 60, and 2) more experience and drops for the higher the difficulty which makes playing on a higher difficulty rewarding, as it should be. Aside from that, the game is one of the best I have played, but it truly is pointless to play on high difficulties as there really are no rewards.

I think some people simply get a lot of joy from the combination of "how close to perfect can I hone my skills" and "how close to completely broken can I make the game if I know it well enough?". And you know what? I'm 100% here for it.

Because, due to physical limitations or dislike to stress out on a game, not everyone wants to play a more difficult game. The way Horizon does it makes it so everyone can enjoy the game regardless of ability or willingness to take the challenge. The reward in playing on a higher difficulty is the act of overcoming that difficulty. Some people do enjoy the "I beat you no matter what you throw at me" feeling. There's also that 100% game completion satisfaction.

I agree with this completely. Farming for coils on Ultra hard is a joke. If you play on the hardest mode, you should be getting gear and weapons that match that difficulty.

Why corrosive vs brittle on the last boss?

Specters/Specter Prime uniquely have gold plates, which when the enemy is corroded take 4x damage compared to 1.8x damage when brittle (plus component multiplier in both cases). Of course with brittle you are more free to shoot anywhere to follow-up, but if you can hit the gold plates as is done in the clip, you get this result.
