I went Avilanchi last year... Nice place... There is only one guest house that belongs to TNEB... We cannot stay with comfort there because it's too worst with 2 tier wooden benches as bed... And no much place to see there by your own... Forest department bus is there to take us up from the last check post for site seeing... Places I mean sites are to good for nature lovers... Once we climbed up, only grass lands are there in hill top and bavani temple and bavani river origin is to good to see... Emerald Lake is classy... During my visit the climate is windy with drizzlings... Enjoyed that climate lot than sites... It gives me feel like some where in Europe... Bus travel is almost 2-3 hrs cannot remembered exactly. Finally there is places no much places to stay and see. Once you visit Ooty, you can stay in Ooty to night and plan Avilanchi by next early morning. And you should reach there between 10-11 and after covering all the places you can return from there between 4-5. Don't take night risks by staying there in Uncomfort zone at cold.
