Here’s Ella at the top of her craft with her precision scat singing along with the incredible Oscar Peterson on the chops performing “Air Mail Special” in a 1961 Canadian TV broadcast.

Ella’s virtuosity in scat singing is unparalleled among jazz singers. She is a fine-tuned musical instrument unto herself! No other jazz vocalist comes close to her perfection.
"Air Mail Special" is a 1941 jazz standard written by Benny Goodman, James Mundy and Charlie Christian. Jazz fans know it best as a vehicle for the virtuoso scat singing of Ella Fitzgerald, which is featured in this video.
Technical Information:
I used iZotope RX-8's Music ReBalance utility to separate the Vocal, Drums, Bass and Piano into 4 separate tracks. Adobe Audition was used for Dynamic Range recovery, Delay, Reverb, EQ, and final mixdown. NERO 2019 Platinum used to generate the final video.

Late here but absolutely mind boggling and transcendent. Makes you not even THINK about Oscar Peterson which is a feat unto itself. It's obvious she is just thinking in such a clear, structured, and precise way that allows her to conceive of and sing complex jazz harmony extensions without even being able to read music. I would be interested to know if she just had an amazing ear or if she understood music theory as well to contextualize the use of her voice. Pretty hard to comprehend having that level of control and creativity.

The sound quality of her singing is excellent. Crystal clear. How did she scat on those chromatic chords at 2:41 and stay on pitch? Or scat on the sophisticated jazz harmonies? Did she play these chords on the piano, or just hear the chords by ear? Could she read music, or did she just absorb improvisation by performing with other jazz musicians? Amazing.

Там были блюзы 1930 х и 1940 х годов. Даже эти мелодии не надоедают которые у меня на слуху 40 лет. Хорошо что сейчас найти много интересующей музыки. И такие как Вы люди опубликовываете.
