Louis and Ella together made magic. Each could sing alone or with others, but together, these two artists were heavently. Glad I grew up during their time. My favorite way of listening is with my eyes closed.

Yes. I took photos today in Central Park. It was a beautiful day too. A good vibe. I like the colors of the trees 🌳 and bushes. I saw very few older people walking in the park.

Not that age matters.... but I lucked out when a teacher had me do a report on Satchmo when I was in the 4th grade. I've been in love with his music and most other Jazz ever since. 25 years later I must say I still come back to these classics over todays jazz.

Pam I think he meant Louis , Ray and most of the greatest black musicians and entertainers that ever lived was STUCK in jim crow segregation era , which they were. Many had success, but not as much as they wanted , in alot of cases their music wasn't heard on radio stations unless they were sung by white singers

Autumn In New York was written by Vernon Duke and this starts out in Dm7 Moderate Slow Ballad= 70, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong are fantastic . Ella Fitzgerald ex husband Ray Brown bassist is the bassist on this recording session. They were married from 1947 - 1953 ( married 7 years) and 1 adopted son Ray Brown Jr . But they remain friends until her death June 15,1996. Ray Brown is the greatest Jazz bassist ever lived, he died in July 2, 2002. He died 7 years after her death.

Well comfysockz you are getting the right start!My dad was a jazz musician and I started playing the piano at age 2 or something. He was bringing me home jazz albums all through my childhood that are now classics. Things like Chet Baker's first release. i listened to all the jazz greats. I was lucky. And I am at the other end--aged 63. Great songs last.
