@k4ZE106 Fair enough. I use Traktor and generally don't trust the level meter on it or the auto gain. I always find that when I run Traktor through my audio interface into my mixer the levels on Traktor are well within 0db but my mixer says otherwise. I guess the soundcard in the ddj is built in so you have no need to worry about altering the levels through an external soundcard, but I would always prefer to monitor levels from the source closest to the speakers, which in my case is the mixer.

This Kit is just so nice for a Starter DJ like I am, I'm really wondering to buy this kit right now. I mean I' m DJing just as a hobby and I dont have that much money to spend, so this is a perfect Setup just to mix on some Housepartys and for doin it on your own(yeah i noticed! :P)

@MITCHBR0WN actually i don't think its a problem, its the way it should be, when you use the sync button, the pitch slider don't work when you turn off the sync button again until you move the pitch slider to the place where it should be( either faster down or slow up. You can see it on the traktor...) otherwise if It doesn't do that. when you have your pitch is in the middle n u move it, it will go either too fast or slow....

I'm actually quite a CDJ/vinyl purist so I'm not a fan of controllers, but I really have an interesting question. Suppose a DJ owns an S4 or a T1 and he wants to actually beatmatch all four decks. Suppose the songs are respectively 127,128,129,130 BPM before pitching them. When you pitch say the 128 BPM track up to 130 and mix it in and then swap to the other left deck where the 127 track is. The pitch would actually indicate 129. So you would have to change. Doesn't that make switching hard?

when you raise your hand or move to the beat as a dj behind the booth, you are really getting into ur set. dj's do all sorts of movements in the back from just "bobbing" their head to dancing..... everyone is alittle diff. but bottom line is IF YOU FEEL IT, YOUR GOIN TO PUT OUT A GREAT SHOW FOR UR AUDIENCE...

@ellaskins can you please do a video series like this one on the DDJ-S1? between the two of you, you present a lot of information and it is really helpful. I'm thinking about getting the S1 (four decks is too much for a beginner) but one of these video series would be very helpful in learning everything about the S1. also, if you could go more in depth about adjusting the beat grid, it would help a lot. Love your videos :)

well, do you use 4 channels? or simply 2? do you like to see overlayed waveforms (as VirtualDJ) ... well I have a ddsj1 and is perfect for me.. also the master channel output can be a XLR or a RCA.. well, u can fin those manuals on the web for more information :)

@k4ZE106 I'd always still prefer one on the mixer tbh. You don't wanna be looking at your screen all night. Plus the one in traktor is pretty basic and if your paying out for pro Pioneer stuff it's the least you expect to have a decent level meter on the mixer.

OK im innclined to buy one of these for my house setup, but i have a problem. i know theres an aux input in the back of the mixer, and what i need to know is how this works. i play with a live act from a guitar but i needed to know if i can connect the amp to the mixer wia RCA and how am i going to be able to control its sound or how is it going to be thrown into the the trackor or the mixer. i hope i made myself clear, i really needed an answer on this topic asap. greetings from portugal

I have a question regarding the traktor software. I have just purchased the DDJ-T1 and the traktor version which came with it looks different to yours on the video (decks C & D aren't displayed in full like A & B, and there is a big library down the bottom) and your preferences menu has a lot more options on it (Like changing colour etc). Are you using a full version of Traktor, like Traktor Pro 2, or using the version which came with the DDJ-T1 (Pioneer version)?? Anyone is welcome to answer

Is traktor 2 working perfectly or just use the sync button? Because All T1 pitch stuck when the move the pitch (software mapping problem) . Soon Traktor 2.1 going to resolve the problem...

I have a DDJ T1 the problem with traktor... I live in Lebanon it's in Middle East and here we have arabic songs & iplay it ... the Song names are written in arabic language ... and the traktor Software cannot read it ... do u have any solution of this Bug ??? thank you :)

the only advantage of this controller is its size.. if you compare it to the denon dn mc 6000 which can even be used as a stand alone mixer or the NI S4, the ddj t1 hasnt got a chance..

I think it really doesn't matter that much for the audience in if you use 4 or 2 decks. I actually think that using 4 decks is not really smart, because you are way more likely to screw something up.

Pioneer T1 isnt worth the money, better off going with the kontrol s4. More functionality, less money. Pioneer need to stay out of the controller market unless they're gonna bring some innovation to the table.
