Elle, you may think you prevented you and Blair from growing in your "peak years" but in all honesty I think you preventing a lot of harm and disfunction. You both are so genuine and I would have hated to see what reality tv would have done to you both. They way past reality stars talk about it, it never seems as great once you do it only from the beginning when you see the fame and money. I am happy that you stepped up and took the bullet so to speak. I just watched Blair's video and I thought it was so mature of her to admit that she can look back and see where she had privilege. I think you helped protect Blair when she needed it. "They" always say the viewer can feel the authenticity or lack there of and I think keeping true to who you were at the time was really brave. I can't imagine any current huge beauty influencer having that type of maturity and restraint.

Yes - I always think about Blair and Elle as sort of the OG beauty influencers, and it'd be interesting to see how that landscape has changed in the past 10 years. Like at one point they moved to LA and were developing a tv show and seemed to be walking a lot of red carpets and promoting that GlitzyGlam stuff, and then Elle had the accident and Blair did some show (Amazing Race?) - and then they more or less disappeared, while today's beauty influencers are busy filming videos of their zillion-dollar closets. I'd love to know what happened there (and maybe not just to them).

I would love a part two because you and Blair really were the foundation of influencer culture but your experience is far different to the current stars'. I've been subbed since the very beginning and it's always been so interesting because you and Blair were always a bit more mysterious with behind the scenes and your platform decisions which sometimes that confused to viewer but what you shared today helped me understand your perspective more. Selfishly I'd love a tell-all because your story is so much more than what's on the surface and it's fascinating!

honestly I think about the hate that you and Blair got back in the day, and I seriously think nobody on youtube has ever had it worse. Like the shit about your guys' names??? OH MY GOD. It was INSANE. Also the standards now for "sell out" are SO much more extreme than what you guys were doing. Now it's the era of mansion tours & dozens of luxury cars and nobody bats an eyelash. I don't doubt at all that you guys would have PTSD from it, I still struggle with the hate I got years ago & it was nothing compared to what you both endured. ❤️

I don’t know why, but I genuinely thought this was an older video, judging by the thumbnail! I eventually unfollowed both sisters because their content was no longer up to par with other youtubers and I felt their content was more about sponsorships than things they genuinely cared for. Every now and then I check in on Blair and it kinda reminds me as to why I unfollowed. However, everytime I check in on Elle, it just brings nostalgia and good vibes. I feel like we saw her mature, and her content is still honest, sweet, and chill. She is one of those OG beauty gurus who matured along with us, from posting makeup videos to posting mom and family stuff.

As a parent I commend you. Your parents obviously taught you good core values and how to take care of yourself! I think one topic that would be awesome is how your parents guided you to save money. How did you start investing? What did you start off first and how did you build your investment portfolio. I feel the majority of younger people do not know how to do this and with the age of “influence “ on you tube, Instagram, etc it’s way too easy to sucked up into all of that and spend waaaay too much money. Learning how to budget and save as well as “mad money” for spending is so important. Would love to hear how you do it! Thanks for the consideration and for all you do!

OMG you just make me so happy every time you post a video! I've been watching you ever since 2012 and currently I'm binge watching ALL of your videos. You've always been like a big sister to me (which I don't have in real life) teaching me everything that a girl should know. Words cannot describe how happy you've been making me throughout all of these past years. I'm 21 now and when I look back, I'm just so grateful to have found you as my INSPIRATION, especially my guidance through the sensitive teenage years. I remember entering all of your giveaways mostly because of those handwritten cards that you'd put in along with the giveaway prize because I wanted something from you as a form of connection with my "big sister" as I like to call you. You're the person that I still up to the this day truly look up to and admire. You're so honest about everything and I want you to know that it's very much appreciated. Just the other day I was watching one of your videos from the FallThatGlitters series where you had your hair dyed in brown. At the end of the video you smiled but it was more a sad smile than a happy smile. You could barely notice that but still I just thought to myself how quick are people to judge without knowing ANYTHING about someone else's life.. it's horrible what these internet trolls can do people. God knows what you've been going through these past few years but you kept it hidden for us so that WE could be happy after watching your video. I mean how selfless and kind is that..?!

You can see that she had the "Barbie, pink, glittery ( no pun intended) it girl" life without drama and when she felt uneasy abt it she backed away and now she is back because she actually loves this and not for the money! and you can see how much of a grown up lady she had become all while staying true to her self and the way she was raised !!! aaaghhh I can write paragraphs and it still wouldn't express how much I ADORE you !!!! It felt like the brand deals with bad direction was the wedding deal. I remember feeling uncomfortable watching the series because, despite how happy I was for you and Alex, the whole production never felt right / inauthentic and that you regretted doing it with a magazine because it was so controlled. I'm sure you couldn't share about that for legal reasons but that always felt really wrong.

As soon as I heard what she said being her subscriber since 2009 I noticed that the wedding prep situation looked forced. When she did the video about choosing her gifts at macys it look both look so tired
@madeleine67494 жыл бұрын
@@N4tty7 I completely agree. And it had nothing to do with her but rather the production/company she was working with. I felt bad for her because the audience could see how overproduced it was and it was poorly received; you could see she was contractually obligated to do everything but I felt really bad that her wedding was commercialized and felt forced.
@N4tty74 жыл бұрын
@@madeleine6749 I think no bride should feel that way nor be under pressure because it was a real wedding and until this day they still together. That contract was more for a person who is acting things up and kind of look like it was real. At that point the contract probably said not to speak against them or violate their "rules" but as for any contract they all have an expiration date and I believe she can freely talk about it if she desires to do so, but to leave the drama behind she chose not to do it, because is not healthy neither. So sad some companies give deals that look amazing and they still have some hidden issues!

I've been watching you for over 10 years and to me, to this day, you are by far the most relatable youtuber. I can relate to you so much! We are the same age, got married around the same time... I love your videos so much, and i'm so happy you are going to make more videos. Do sponsorships, I don't mind at all. I just want more videos from you and to see baby James and the cats more often too!!

Isabela Dias Yes! I am right there with you! I feel like I have “grown up” with Elle. Been watching Elle since her college dorm days, I got married to my husband in 2016, had my baby girl in 2017 and have loved seeing Elle go through the same stages in her life. I’m really glad she has stuck with KZbin even with breaks in between I will always click on her videos when they show up in my sub box.

You are calm, patient and introvert like me and I understand why you didn't wanted to do reality shows. You did a good thing to not accepting. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy as you are know. Drama is not healthy for such people like us! 😉💗

wow, I had no idea how much went on behind the scenes all those years ago! I'm glad you listened to your gut regarding reality TV. It seems like your life turned out beautifully regardless, and that's what matters!

Hearing about all the stuff that’s happened to you two in the past would be super interesting🤩however, if you’re not allowed to talk about it due to contractual obligations, a part II to this vid would be perfect, too! Love you, been watching you since day 1!♥️

Oh my gosh! Elle! Please do a video about your experience with the reality tv show offers! I remember hearing rumors about that years ago and I'd love to know what was really going on!
