Elle, it's great to have someone do a video that truly addresses deep set eyes. So many people really don't get it - they're not the same as hooded eyes, although you can have some hooding due to age on a deep set eye. Deep set eyes can have decent lid space (I do, even though I am quite advanced in age and am deleveloping some hooding). As you point out, though, the eye is recessed into the socket. I would really appreciate knowing exactly which of the Merle Norman eye pencils you used - I've visited the website, and I can't really tell which one corresponds to the one in your video. I am constantly on the hunt for a liner for tightlining the upper lashline, as you demonstrate here (and trying to avoid the upper waterline, i.e. staying in between the lashes). Great video!

Thank you! I always HATED the way shadow looked on me and never knew why. I gave up on it for a while but now I'm in my 30's, wanting a few more looks under my belt. Never realized my deep set eyes need a different technique! Even so, concealer and mascara have always made a world of difference for my eyes! The true heroes of deep set eye make up.

I really like your method it makes sense and thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us. I tried it this morning and I like it a lot because it opens my eyes and eyes don't look tired but I have a quick question: do you recommend applying concealer on eyelids? I have both deep and hooded, small eyes that are close together. I can't use a regular lash curler because my eyes are set back so far that my cheek is in the way. I have to use one that goes straight in.

I have the same problem! Even the rephr eyelash curler which was supposed to be less concave so as to fit into deep set eyes -- I can't get that one in either. They all hit the curve by the inner part of my eye / nose area.

I use the Shiseido lash curler, very good as it does not snag my skin although I still have to ve careful.

Hey girl. I’m one of your deep set eye girls, but I also have big eyes, so I do a smoked out wing with a brush and bring it in to the lid about a 1/4 of the way and just smoke it up leaving the rest of the lid light color like you showed us today.. I would also do my water line. But for the wing I use a damp brush and dip into my eye shadow because the pencil skips. Or put the color from the pencil on the brush . Would love a more advanced look. Xoxox’s

i've practiced this and find it does make quite a difference in my made-up look. However, I do have very sensitive eyes, also, and most of the current eye pencils make my eyes water when I try to line under my lash line. I tear up and that makes the pencil wash away. Any helpful suggestions or recommendations to make this better?

thnak you for this video : ) I have deep set eyes and a lot of space between the lids and brows so I normally use a darker color on the bone, I blend it with a lighter color then blend that one with a lighter color like going up. Is that the best approach? because I normally don't know what to do with all that protruding bone area.
