She is the female Seinfeld! Mixed in with a little Mark Twain. Brilliant observational comedy and genius how she pulled it all together into a full circle at the end. No vulgarity, no swearing, no sex talk, no bad-mouthing or ridiculing any group, no bantering with the audience to kill time. Solid writing and incredible memorization skills that made it look like she was just having a conversation with you. She should do more of these, especially since her show is off the air now.

@@fareshajjar1208 I used to love Ellen DeGeneres SO much! Even now, when I think about her, I remember her like this, in her early years, when she was so sweet and vulnerable and funny - which was why so many of us adored her. Then I wonder, what happened? I think that perhaps all the venom that we have witnessed from the "later Ellen" may have been the result of a really sensitive soul that was exposed too much to the ugliness of fame, fortune, and Hollywood. She isn't America's sweetheart anymore, but I like to remember her this way, when she was. And I hope a day will come when she finds healing of her soul, and returns to being who I believe was her true self.

Outstanding, intelligent, relevant and universal humor. Laughed and smiled again and again. Focusing on our common tendency to move away from being present, here and now :-)

I am SO glad I was reminded to find this, again! It is STILL just as funny as I remembered and surprisingly relevant, even though it was filmed in 2003. The beauty in this special and The Beginning are how absolutely relevant the relatability is in her comedy. People love to laugh at themselves, at the end of the day. I will never forget being a young teen and watching it on HBO, it was around midnight and my Dad was sleeping on the couch, behind me. I had tried as hard I could to not bust out laughing and wake him, but failed numerous times-ESPECIALLY during the "embarrassment" segments. "That's Not Nancy", tripping and, "Pain really takes a backseat to embarrassment" - such GOLD! 😂 I laughed hard enough that my Dad remembers exactly what night I'm talking about. I absolutely love this special so much. Now to watch, "The Beginning" again.

Dana Elona still pretty. Blue eyes shining with joy and kindness and a kind, playful, and child like personality. If you think beauty is skin deep, you are brainwashed by fashion industry, which is filled with pea-brain anorexic people. That kind of beauty loses its charm once you spend time with the peson for half an hour.

I was shocked by how good this was! Her impressions, making insecurities come to life as characters, the mini scenes she acted were amazing---and her memorization skills were awesome. I really had no idea what a great performer she is, I thought she just showed funny kid-friendly videos and danced with celebrities. I have a new found respect for her talent.
