Ellen is about my age; I’m 62. Our generation of lesbians were in the wars for LGBTQA people. For us being able to come out publicly and professionally is still huge. The risks we took and lost and continued to fight are what allows those who followed us to feel like being gay isn’t a big deal. We couldn’t be more delighted for you! You’re strong and vocal and that’s what we older lesbians fought for.

Am I the only one who just had to know if the visual aid used for the meerkat joke was actually present on stage or added later by Netflix? My first thought was, "How stupid does someone think their audience is that they'd need a video clip of meerkats to ensure the joke landed?" Apparently, Ellen. IMHO, it comes across as an unnecessary crutch, as it was legitimately a good joke without the clip. Using the clip made her look hacky.
