Ellensburg, Washington to Hood River, Oregon

This drive was filmed at the start of the 4th week of July 2024. After driving out to Ellensburg to meet some friends for breakfast it was time to get my wife down to the Columbia River Gorge and her 2024 section hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. It was hot, hazy, and smokey so not a lot of color compared to the normal vibrant green of Washington and Oregon. She ended up hiking 90 miles in a little over 1 week and is looking forward to next years outing with her backpacking buddies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oregon? At least the huge fire in the eastern part by I-84 is mainly a grass fire. The part north of Burns is bad :(

Washington. But the Oregon fires are awful too. Every year they begin earlier.

I thought it was Washington but wanted to make sure. Hopefully the Highway 12 fire west of Naches doesn't keep going west up the mountain, I would hate to see it get to the lake area. Good news though, it looks like Stehekin was spared.
