As a somewhat singer myself, I have to say that sometimes when you're just that into the song it takes more than just your voice to express it. And from her interviews there are very strong emotional connections for her to her music. So I don't think it's a matter of trying too hard, I think it's an overflowing of her emotions, her songs are something that are intensely personal to her even in a public performance. She loves her music and it comes through. I can respect that. :)
