Hi Diana, can you tell me please if you did a narrow or wide cover stitch at the top and for the hem? Thank you so much for the video, makes it a lot easier for me to follow along making this top. Tammy

Diana, I have a question about hemming with your cover stitch machine, what type of stitch do you use and how many needles do you use didn’t know whether to do a two needle narrow or wide cover stitch or a single needle chain stitch. I have read you only want to use the double needle on sports wear but I like the look on other garments just wasn’t sure what your suppose to do so thought I’d ask your advice. Thank you hope I made since.

Omg I’m in so much trouble. I love all your tutorials. I’ve got so many of your patterns and of course I’ve had to buy the fabric to match 😆😆 Love the fabric you used for this. Did you say it’s an Alpaca? It looks wonderfully soft. Thank you xx

Can it be done with regular elastic if you don't have clear elastic? I love the sweater version 💓
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Using regular elastic will not have the same result. It may be bulky and it might wave the seam. You can find clear elastic on Amazon or a craft/fabric store. You can omit it, but it would be stabilized.

Lovely pattern. How hot do you have your iron? Mine won't steam unless it is quite hot and I worry I may spoil my fabric.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC3 жыл бұрын
I do set my iron pretty hot but do try to be careful each time I set it on fabric. I use tons of steam too and try not to get the iron right on fabric which is more sensitive to heat.

Gorgeous! I have the same Brother cover stitch. Just curious what tension settings you used. I haven’t used it much but it’s definitely worth it on knits. Will definitely want to make this. I’ll also check out the fabric company as well.

The elastic that you placed on your fabric how are you able to get the needle to penetrate it? Mine just doesn't work. I have tried everything. All it does is jams the machine or it gets bundled up.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC3 жыл бұрын
Are you using a sewing machine or serger? Make sure you have a nice tail at the beginning where you can grab hold of it to help it stay. Sometimes it’s easier if you zigzag stitch it first with a wide zigzag and then when you go to sew it out it at the bottom. I’m sorry it’s giving you problems. Oh, you would also hand stitch it beginning so it doesn’t move on you before you start sewing?

Is there anyway to hack this to make it a cowl neck or even a V neck? I love this but my body type (large breast) doesn’t do well with crossbody tops.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC3 жыл бұрын
We do have the strap option that makes it a bit more modest and keeps the fabric from shifting.
