4:55 it definitely is a reaction show! all the personal relationships & friendships come at a later stage once they give us something to love and take away from us, slowly.... and it's rough.
@michelleart659321 күн бұрын
I guess "at a later stage" is one way of saying it. I personally never learned to like Elle enough (probably becuase she was in the show for a really short time, just like Kate /JLH/, and I've watched S1 only once I think), so for me the show really starts when Emily Prentiss comes on board. She's also my favourite female character in the show followed by Tara.

@@EllieroseReacts Personally I didn't think it was that gory for the most part, many times they cut away from violent acts and particularly gruesome bodies are somewhat censored, like if someone's face was really messed up they'd tell us that but not really show it. I know everyone has different limits but I wouldn't let the gore deter you from at least giving it a shot

This is the pilot and in season one some of the characters and their attributes are still being explored and formed. I love the early episodes, but they are just kind of relying on the basics of the characters in the beginning. They do develop over time though, and there’s a reason this show lasted so long and still maintained a new audience after the original run of the show ended. Spencer is 100% the best character that everyone loves, and the one the writers would squeeze every time they needed drama. All the characters go through a lot of trauma, but his is the most memorable, guy can’t catch a break.

I'm really happy to see someone react to this show, even if it's only an episode, thank you very much !! The characters relationships and past is totally more explored in the laster episodes (I think that, even if it's long, it's worth watching the first 2 seasons to really make your mind. The first is good to introduce us to everyone and dig a little bit in everyone's past but we really go in it is second season, so if you don't want to wait that long yeah maybe it's not worth it, there's a lot of other fun shows to react to ! I've seen people suggest the mentalist, bones and castle, all of them are awesome !! (But for some reason I think that maybe you'd like the vibe of the mentalist more for the protagonist ?))

As a person who's watched and loves both shows I can say that there are episodes where there are humourous parts with the team so it's not all dark, but unfortunately their cases are mostly dark.
@JustaFairyStory2 ай бұрын
Yesss Criminal minds is such a journey, it is more serious and there are some incredibly dark concepts and episodes, and American crime dramas normally aren’t my thing. But there’s a sort of vibe to this show that makes it feel different . Most of the interpersonal drama feels like it make sense, and the characters, even if they change over the years, are like able and feel like a family. This isn’t the type of show I’d recommend watching from the beginning though. I would look up some of the most popular episodes and then watch the rest from there based on your interest. Definitely recommend “The Uncanny valley,” “the big game/ Revelations” and the season 4 two part finale “To Hell… and Back”
@michelleart659321 күн бұрын
I agree with most of the things you said except for not watching from the beginning, because if someone decides to watch the most popular episodes and is like I'm going to watch like '100' or 'Lauren' first they're going to be like very confused of George Foyett and Emily Prentiss and their importance for the team...Ok, I can't believe I put them in one sentence like that :D , but you know what I mean...I personally don't like season 1 and only re-watch the episodes from when Prentiss comes in because she's my favourite, but even I forced myself to watch S1 at least once. I think a long show like "Criminal Minds" that has 17 seasons (I realize S16 and S17 are called 'Criminal Minds: Evolution', but anyway) should be watched in order...although I know that S1 would hardly pick people's interest...
@JustaFairyStory20 күн бұрын
@ I think season 1 has some great episodes, and I do think watching the first few episodes is important, and I recognize the importance of watching chronologically. So maybe “most popular” isn’t the way to go, as if you’re going to do that, I’d want someone to avoid the major arcs. But let me put it this way, someone might be a lot more interested in watching the show if their first introduction is “Moseley Lane” rather than the pilot Maybe the suggestion should be for the best episodes of a season.
@michelleart659320 күн бұрын
@@JustaFairyStory Yeah, that does sound a lot better.👍🏻 Also I wish there were more "Criminal minds" reactions on KZbin, but alas so far there's only one active reactor that has watched every episode and is currently on S13 I think episode 8 or 9. The other active one is only on S3 and the third for some reason started from S9 (and not even from the first episode I think) and is currently on 12 Ep 13 (had just started Reid's arc)... I've also stumbled on one or two people who kind of watch episodes based on recommendations from the comments' section and thus are just jumping over various CM episodes (like for example could watch "Profiler Profiled" and then jump to like "Amplification") which made me confused and I was like "how do they even understand what they're watching, they're probably so confused because that's not the way to watch a show"...

I found only three and one is on S13 right now (he's probably the only one, because when I tried to find more reactions of S13 I couldn't), one is currently at S3 (episode 8) I think and one for some reason starts from S9 (not even the first episode) and has reached somewhere the middle of S12... I think the lack of reactions for it on youtube is because the show has 17 seasons and people get turned off by that...

You popped up on my page for the first time because i watch several people react to Criminal Minds. It has a bit more of the personal lives than other procedurals because of how dark the crimes are. They felt they needed that other side. It started with less of that, but it grows. This is one of my fave shows. I will see what other shows you have though. Just thought you should know you would not be alone as a reactor. If not your taste for it though, that of course is fair.

Someone else suggested White Collar as a show more similar to Suits, and I have to second that suggestion! It‘s a wonderful and fun show and the interpersonal stuff is front and center right from the start. I love Criminal Minds, too, but as someone who has watched 12 seasons of it before kind of losing interest, I do think there are a lot of heavily “crime of the week“-focused episodes to get through in order to see the personal relationships develop and get to the really good and emotionally impactful stuff. Just my personal opinion, but I do think something like White Collar would make for a much better reaction series.

This show is super episodic, but I loved it for all the team. They really become family and you get to know them really well. I personally don't suggest this show a lot because it can get very dark and somewhat disturbing. So I kind of wait for people to find it on their own and see if they want to invest in it.
