Technical question: As I understand things, after one "retires" from an office, he is allowed to continue to use his title as a badge of honor. Mike Huckabee was Governor of Arkansas...and thus he is referred to as Governor. President Trump has named Mike as Ambassador to Israel, and accordingly, after Trump takes the oath of office and Mike takes office, he would have the title of Ambassador. Here is the question: Which title is considered to be greater -- Governor or Ambassador? Which will Mike be using after his term is expired? Personally, I think that the title of Pastor is greater than either of the others.

You use the one which is current. The term ambassador only applies while an active position. If someone visits an area they are not from, they are called tourist, but once they return home, they are not former tourists. Ambassador is similar in that it describes a dignitary representing a foreign country. When he comes back to the US, he is no longer representing us somewhere else, so no longer an ambassador. It stays on his resume though. 😊
