This performance of the last hour is just spectacular. Honestly one of the only songs that I feel like I've had a true "religious" experience with. Like it makes me cry and my body go numb, tingly and covered in goosebumps.

He was on a writing fury between 95- 98. Pure genius.

For real! And all great or better!? Like, huh? These mid 90s solo shows are my favorites, just a dude traveling the country writing timeless great songs. Jeff Buckley was in the audience for this too! There's a pic of them together ❤️

The audio quality on this show is great for this era, and the set list is singular and perfect. What a musical gift. "The Last Hour" is especially beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.

such an honest and modest performer too... if he messes up a song, he stops, and looks for some sense of approval from the audience to keep going.. As if he's asking for their forgiveness and permission to continue... (in'a way)

Love this video. Sound is aight, paired with the 90s home video style. Gives it this aged quality and weird feel. Also, it has my favorite version of No Confidence Man.

The only live version of The Last Hour? Really? ...I mean, I believe you.., but that's so strange to me.., I wonder why he didn't like playing it.. Also, interesting seeing him playing it in 96' I thought it was one of the few songs from 'Basement' that was current around the time of that album...
@mglenwright098 жыл бұрын
+TonySarandrea215 from what i've read and what not, he had a habit of going back and reworking old stuff that was written over a decade before sometimes. so even if it seemed like it was a current song that was just written, there's always the off chance he actually wrote it in highschool or with heatmiser, stashed it away, blew off the cobwebs 10 years later and revamped it. whether or not it's the ONLY live version he ever did, i have no idea. i wasn't even listening to music until about the time he died. either way i fucking love it
