I was at this gig!!! I cant believe it was filmed, thanks for uploading! Quasi supported & Elliot stood in on rhythm guitar. Sam Coomes tried standing on his keyboard & fell on his arse when the whole thing, which was on wheels, slid out from under him. He also had a huge bogey up his nose, but they put on a great show. Man i miss Elliot, a true genius, gone too soon.

This is my favourite Elliott live setlist/performance. He was probably at the top of his game back then. Shame this video doesn't include footage of "Dancing On The Highway". He finished the set with it that night and to this day it's probably my fav live song of his....hauntingly beautiful as always. Thanks for the upload, shame we can't find a hq version.

No apology necessary! Up til now, this is by far the best performance that I have seen elliott give. He seems less nervous and very relaxed. It trumps the fuzzy or grainy video quality?.......sometimes function is more than form. Thank you ever so much for this set..

I went to Reading Festival 6 months after this where Elliott played. I didnt see him as he was on a smaller stage and didnt really know about him then. I will always regret that. I didnt get into him until I heard Fond Farewell on a Q compilation CD in 2003 I think,

He seems to play at least 10-15% faster solo than a lot of the studio cuts. Maybe shyness, or nerves, adrenaline? Maybe it's just where he settles into without a drummer. But he definitely seems to go at many tunes with sort of a running start. Also he has the crowd captured from go. I've never heard so many rowdy shows go completely silent like they do with Elliott. Right as he begins strumming his guitar, they're his, and it makes for really smooth transitioning. Or was that a rhetorical question? 😀

The Audio is worth getting through the quality problems... Sounds like the digital signals were clipping... You can soften it up but it’s not really fixable...
